Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
I hate to tell you this but Shun was a one time deal for the Street Fighter Zero aka Alpha OVA's. Personally I think its sad that Ryu meets and loses his brother in such a short time span but its realistic. Also keeping him alive would have probably warranted that he be a character in one of the Street Fighter Games. Personally my disappoint with the film lies in the ending where they tease you with Ryu vs. Gouki (Akuma)

But in Street Fighter 2 the movie she doesn't know who he is. ;) Could someone explain that to me please.
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Basically the Writers got lazy and disregarded the whole storyline for Street Fighter 2: The Anime along with the Story line for Street Fighter V the series. So When you watch Street Fighter Alpha don't think of it as a prequel to the SF2 but sort of like set in an alternate universe where the other series have no bearing. Sort of like what people do with the Alternate Timeline in Gundam! ;)

Akuma has always been my favorite character in the Street Fighter series but I'm disappointed that only was there no Ryu vs. Akuma fight, that the audience got to see, but Akuma makes only a few guest appearences in the movie. I was waiting for him to attack Ryu with the incredible power of his and he just stands there and talks. :(
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Actually the funny thing is this Ova series was planned out 4 years in advance originally the story was suppose to make Gouki (Akuma) and Ryu twin brothers that were seperated at birth. But after various Street Fighter 2 avocates including some of the main creators of the games complaints they went ahead with the Shun storyline instead. Also that whole twin brother one evil one good thing has been way over done in the past especially in various Asian films.
Omar Harris
It does get cliched and tiring doesn't it? I thought Akuma was the brother of Ryu and Ken's sensei. Isn't that the way it is in the games?
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Yes it is like that in the games, though the creators of Street Fighter Zero aka Alpha the ovation as it originally title was called, wanted to totatlly screw up the storyline thankfully they weren't able to.
