Final Fantasy UK release

I think Square already did this with Final Fantasy Chronicles, didn't they? I could be wrong though (I suspect that FFC included FFV, FFVI and Chrono Trigger).

I have not heard of a re-release of FF/II/III on PlayStation, though.

However, I have heard reports that Square might be re-releasing those games on GBA. So, I'm not exactly clear on that one. But I do know that Final Fantasy Chronicles is already out in the UK, so you should be able to find that if you have not already bought it. :)

I've heard that FFI and FFII (the Japanese FFII, not FFIV) are going to be released on the PlayStation, and I've seen screen shots, too. I think there was a thread about them awhile ago, but I couldn't find it. (It must be back on the second or third page by now). There's some info on them at GameSpot, and some screen shots. It says they're going to be released in the fourth quarter of 2002 in Japan, but no details on a US release, or anywhere else. I've also heard that they may not be released outside of Japan, though that's just a rumor.

I haven't heard anthing about FFIII being remade, or anything about the games being remade on the GBA, though. Hopefully they will be.

RPGamer.com have Final Fantasy I and II on their Coming Soon list (I forgot what the list is called). I'm not sure about Final Fantasy III, seen as though it wasn't on the list when I checked, but seen as though they've re-released FFIV, V, and VI on the PSX already, and intend on doing so with FFI and II, most likely, FFIII will be coming out too.

I don't think any dates have been given yet, still.
I'll go check RPGamer, and edit on what I find out..

PS: I made a thread on FFI and FFII a while back, but someone told me a thread like that was already made, so I deleted it, and found out there wasn't
-_-;

EDITS:
http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff1/ff1.html
Final Fantasy I, Set to be re-released in Japan in the Fall of 2002

http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff2/ff2.html
Final Fantasy II, Set to be re-released in Japan also in the Fall of 2002

Still no mention of Final Fantasy III

lol, that'd be stupid if they don't re-release FFIII. FFI,II,IV-X.... insane...

Are you numbering by the Japanese numbers?

I posted a thread here a few months ago... Square is basically putting the Wonderswan Color remakes of the Famicom games (FF1 and FF2 in Japan) on the PSX. The games will have beefed up sound and added FMV openings, but otherwise will still look 16-bit.

There are no announced plans to bring these two games here. They will be sold together in a collectors set in Japan, as well as seperately for like 30 bucks each. Most RPG translations aren't announced until, or just before, the Japanese release is out.

I don't know if I expect these or not... Afterall, we got a far different Chronicles/Anthology release than Japan did. I'd personally like it if they stuck both on one DVD and just sold it for PS2 here. I'm sure the game has horrible loading times just like the Chronicles release, so I'm not so sure I'd personally bother anyway.

Here's the old thread: http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13934
