Timesplitters 2

As some of you know, today is my birthday. So I bought Timesplitters 2 the other day. I haven't had that much time to play it thus far, but from what I have played, I have found it very enjoyable. The graphics are much better than the first, and the weapons and levels are more improved as well. So, I was wondering what others thought of this game?

I've only played the demo... The demo itself made little sense, and I had a really hard time playing the game on the PS2 controller... But it seemed like it had tons of promise, and really did feel a lot like Goldeneye (more than I expected). I've yet to see one bad review for this game either... some are even giving it 10's.

I'll be picking up the GC version most likely.

I just recently got a chance to hire the first Timesplitters game, and am regretful that I didn't play it earlier! I can't wait for TS2 to be released over here, If it's as good as the first, well heck, it'll certainly be one of my favourite FPS games.

I've played Timesplitters 2 a lot, the multi-player deathmatches are fun, but the story mode is pretty blah. It doesn't even make sense, you're just thrust into a specific time and told to get a briefcase, or a jewel, or who knows what. Then when you touch it freaky aliens appear, you run back to the start and the level's over. At least the story mode is 2-players, but there's not much strategizing, just blast away everything. Building your own multiplayer battlefields is pretty fun too, once you get the hang of it.

Yeh, the story mode is pretty boring at times, but the levels are much better done than the first, and the objectives and such are much better than the first. In the first one all you did was find the crystal, retrace your steps to where you began the level, and beat it. I've found the arcade challenges to be very entertaining. Some of them are actually quite hard. I mean who doesn't like dodging burning monkeys?

Well. . I wish I could have posted this in the Nintendo forum, since that is what I got the game for. . but I suppose this will have to do. I got the game yesterday, and have not been able to put it down. We really have only been playing the multi-player basically non-stop, besides a few times where we popped in Robotech or Godzilla ^_^ Both which rule =)

Anyways, while I love the multiplayer, I only have the default levels. I wish I had more, but it will do for now. The only level we really like in there is the snow level. The others are not so bad, but I love the wide open feel of the above mentioned level.

Also a great thing is the custom-ability of the multiplayer. You can really choose between SO many different options. Another great thing is the in-game preferences you can set. The best feature has to be the weapon change feature. You can select it to switch only when you get a new and better weapon, whenever you get a new weapons, or even never -- which is a great feature for many of my friends.

As for the story mode. I have only played the two-player co-op mode. It is such a great mode to play. We have gotten pretty far in the two player mode, though like I said -- we have been mostly playing the multiplayer =P Many of the levels are long, but the levels are so huge, you don't really even notice. Some of the objectives can be pretty hard to achieve ^_^

Oh. . the controls are excellent for the GAMECUBE. It was really easy to pick up the game and start playing it. I think some gaming company said this was the heir to Goldeneye, and I don't think they are that far off =) The weapons with a second fire mode add a lot of depth to several of the weapons -- the SK7(?) has the machine gun, and then the grenade launcher - the alien laser gun has the regular laser or charge it up to fire three blasts, and the second mode of fire you can put up a shield to help block incoming fire -- Just a few of the weapons that make the game really awesome.

I won't post any more . . but I give it a 5 out of 5. I loved the first Time Splitters, and glad they have the same feel. Most people really don't like it, but I can't put it down, specially when running through with a good friend as a partner ^_^

Guest QuickSilver
i have three questions about the multiplayer mode,
1) Does it have Duckman Drake
2) Does it have Robo fish
3) if not, what other comedy characters are there.

i loved the first one, and i am getting the second one for christmas. Multiplayer is just da bomb, Me and SS Trunks always go our unbeatable team of Duckman and Robo Fish.

I think the story mode is great. If you play it on Easy, of course there are less enemies and objectives that on Mormal. But what I thought was cool, is that you actually play less of the level on Easy. I've seen stuff in Normal and Hard that you can't even get to on Easy mode.

Arcade Mode rocks too. I've only been playing Amateur League (which is overly easy to get Gold on), but it's a lot of fun.

I've only player 2 player multi, but even that was great. The best muliplayer experience I ever had on a console lol. I'd say this is best FPS I ever played on a console too.

1) Does it have Duckman Drake: Yes, you can unlock duckman drake in one of the arcade challenges where you have to kill a certain number of ducks.
2) Does it have Robo fish: I'm not certain about this character, but I'm certain he's there.
3) if not, what other comedy characters are there.: Gingerbread man, Calamari, Snowman...Monkey...that's about all I can think of so far.

I have only played it on the XBOX version. It was only the Demo from XOM, and the demo sucked big time. It was pointless and stupid. Well the graphics seemed smooth and the controls did kind of work well... But um at times the swift looking right and left is a pain in the *** when trying to aim at someone....
