Card game questions

Hello all, I am new to the Yu gi oh card game and I have a couple of questions.

1. one card i have (forget name at the moment) cause any attacking monster's ATK points to go to 0. now, does that mean the monster that is attacking loses and dies in the battle? or does it just mean the battle ends in a draw?

2. if your opponent has no monster cards out, can you use your monsters to attack there life points directly? or does the card have to say it can attack LP's?

thanks for you time,

Deadeye

Answer to the second question.

If your opponent has no monsters on the field, you may attack with all of your monsters that are in attack mode and do Direct LP Damage equal to the sum of all the Attack Mode monsters' ATK power. To make it short:

Gate Guardian + Blue Eyes - opponent's monsters = 6750 Direct Damage.
(Both GG and BE in Attack Mode)

1. I've been pondering that question too, I think you're talkin about Kazijin, Suijin, or Sanga of Thunder.

2. If your opponent has no monsters on the field you can attack their LP directly unless they stop the attack(s) with a magic/trap card.

EDIT: hmmm... looks like someone got here a couple of sec/min ahead of me

Answer to the first question:
The card you have is either Suijin,Kazejin, or Sanfga of the Thunder. So if you use the special effect, the attackers ATK points would be 0. Then since it is weaker, the difference between them (ATK-0) would be subrtracted from the suers life points.
Example:
I Have my BEWd (3000 ATK) attck my opponents
I use the effect, and BEWD's attack is reduced to 0. Then you subtract the difference. I (the one with the BEWD) would then loose that diiference in LP.
