Semjaza
You have what? lol Smashing Pumpkins probably got a little to full of themselves at the end... I think that's reflected by some of their later CDs; even the lyrics on Adore give me that impression (although I guess that would be mostly Corgan). I was happy that they rectified a lot of that by making Machina 2 internet only for the most part. I never listened to Machina itself though. But anyway, I liked the bamd. I thought Adore was a great album, unlike most people... But I don't know that anything could top Mellon Collie. The thing has more good songs on it than a lot of bands put out in their entire career. Soma and XYU are probably my favorite songs by them. I also like Marquis in Spades, even though the band thinks it's a stupid song lol. Soundgarden was always pretty decent, but I pretty much forgot about them after the singer split off and added to the list of whiny solo rock CDs out there. I never did, and never ever will like Pearl Jam.
Reflection
Hey Semjaza Azazel, Smashing Pumpkins released Machina II on the internet with how many tracks? I have a bootlegg copy which has only 25 tracks. I've been ripped off. I bought 'Adore' out of curiosity and loved it, their other albums followed. I liked Soundgarden's 'Superunknown' and 'Down On The Upside' alot. Earlier albums I didn't like much, but they were ok. Pearl Jam's first album 'Ten' and their last album 'Binaural' were great. Their other albums only had a few tracks worth listening to.
Semjaza
I no longer have Machina 2... But I believe it was like 25 tracks spread over two vinyls. So it sounds like you have all of it :). The only other thing released by them around that time was a track called "untitled." I'm not sure where it's available on, or if it was live or whatever else. It sounds a lot like a folk song or something.

treton_noir
ok. step back. here i go. the smashing pumpkins are frickin awesome. if anyone thinks they can talk bad about them, they dont have a brain in their head. the smashing pumpkins are the perfect hard rock band. they have mass appeal while still retaining credibility. as for lyrics, azazel, from siamese dream on, every album has had, not only an independent story, but a story line that continued through the later albums. they were telling everyone what was going to happen and nobody even saw it. they told you about their eventual breakup. (they are reforming the band and renaming themselves as "glass and the machines of god".) and being full of themselves is quite justified. nobody writes like corgan. nobody. cherub rock (siamese dream) has 40 seperate guitar parts. "untitled" is a stand alone track found on rotten apples and is the last song from the smashing pumpkins. soundgarden is just a rad-daddy band. pearl jam is good, too.
