BearsBaby635 Posted October 17, 2002 Share Posted October 17, 2002 I have a question. Why do people start a new rpg when they can't/don't finish another one? I know that ppl are in more then one many times but why start so many of them they can'tkeep track of them? I just don't see the point to that. Can someone explain it to me?:confused: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sandy Posted October 17, 2002 Share Posted October 17, 2002 Do you mean the actual starting of a rpg, or pariticipating in one? Well, both ways, it's a matter of "magic of the moment", when things feel SO exciting and SO new, that you just can't miss them. I had a similar experience with the Big Bro-thingy. I thought I really wanted to be on it, but when I think of it now, I enjoy more reading about their suffering with demonic plushies and chainsaws...:devil: (That's what "reality"-shows were meant - to be watched). And of course there's always the aspect of things getting BORING. And because we're on the net, people don't have to take much of responsibilities here. If a rpg withers away, then it does - as simple as that! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mitch Posted October 17, 2002 Share Posted October 17, 2002 This should be in the Adventure Arena. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
QuantumCore Posted October 17, 2002 Share Posted October 17, 2002 well i dont think i will add much seeing as im in only two rpg's at this site. Granted some of them are really interesting but being interested in a story and being in the story are two different things. Something I learned awhile back but yes it does have to do with the magic of the moment and well ive noticed that ppl are in way more rpg's than they can post in. BearsBaby635 Posted October 18, 2002 Author Share Posted October 18, 2002 I've noticed my friends start so many that they can't handle them so they just let it go. and some ppl(like me) who would rather watch (or read) don't know what happenes, and that really gets annoying. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sere Tuscumbia Posted October 18, 2002 Share Posted October 18, 2002 Well, for me, it's I'll sign up, thinking I might get a good RPG outta this, and then everyone will post, and seeing as I'm the nit-picky type, I'll say "screw it. I'm not going to waste my creativeness on this when people say they want to post with the better RPers to get better and they never change!" So I don't post. I'm not saying that a lot of RPG's die becuase I don't post in them, but some just never get started because everyone gives up on them. Sometimes it's just not worth it. Juu Posted October 18, 2002 Share Posted October 18, 2002 RPG's can die... right after they begin... It depends on the plot, and how you and the other rp'ers take the plot. Yes, alot of ppl sign up, but sometimes they quit because the plot might seem a little more confusing to them than they thought, or weren't busy at the time, but now are... ^^ Although some rpg's... ppl decide not to join because of the post quality in the rpg... @_@ although I don't think that's the case in most of them. ^_- Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Progressive Posted October 18, 2002 Share Posted October 18, 2002 I dont even know if I have a right t say every thing but if you start an rpg make sure some people that you know or you know are reliable are in it so if something happens then at least there are some good people still doing it... What I'm Telling you is sort of be picky if you want it to last... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Phantom Posted October 18, 2002 Share Posted October 18, 2002 ...in my opinion, this is a very pointless question. Jaimie... common sense answers this question... and I cant understand why im actually writing here but I may as well go for it;
Why do people start a new rpg when they can't/don't finish another one?
Human nature... If you use the common sense that you were born with..you would understand that not everyone is perfect.. nor will consistently write to your needs. If you want to read and be one hundred percent sure its reliable...get a book.
why start so many of them they can'tkeep track of them?
Human neglegence... come on use your head jaimie. thats all. For once, I must say I agree with you, Phantom. And to further dabble on this certain issue, people start new RPGs with old ones still lingering about because of two main reasons (Well, three, but who gives a ****?): 1) They're too impatient to wait to start a new one/ They're too impatient to let the old one finish up, and 2) RPGs die. You kinda answered your own question with that. "Why do people start new RPGs when an RPG dies? Because that certain RPG died. So people need to move on." A common error, done by all.
