Where are you from? (country, city, locate it if it's not known) 2. Tell us something we should know about it 3. no "it's boring" or "never comes here" 4. discuss about it! I'm from Quebec City, Canada. Quebec is one of the oldest settlement in North America, and it's a cool place because many old building where preserved or reconstituted, while it's still a very modern city. I'd post a poll, but I don't understand how it words and thw FAQ isn't accessible.
1. Milton, FL 2. It's.....in the South.

enigma
I, like many other people who reside within Otaku, come from the once magnificant swamp now known as Toowoomba. (I'm not kidding, it really used to be a swamp!)
Originally posted by Rain You think it's hot now? Just wait until December. But sometimes I can be driven to absolute madness, :bluesweat if you know what I mean, (because I sure don't). Sara
1. Where are you from? I'm from Minnesota, born in Michigan, and raised in Wisconsin. 2. Tell us something we should know about it. My city [Racine] is home to the InSinkErator [first in-sink garbage disposal], Johnson Wax [big supplies company. OFF!, Windex, etc.] We are the 'Kringle Capital of the World' despite the fact that we're in America, not Scandanvia. Racine is known as the Belle City on the Lake, and was 'founded' by explorer Jean Racine. We're on Lake Michigan, the second-largest freshwater lake in the world, and we are home to one of the eleven best free Zoological Gardens in the country. We are home to Fourth Fest, Festival of Trees, and the Salmon-a-Rama. These all take place at the Festival Grounds, conveniently located downtown on the shore, just a few short blocks from the Chancery and the Docks, two popular restaurants. The festival grounds are also located just across from the Racine Public Library. Which isn't anything special, really, but being who I am, I thought I'd mention it. We are the birthplace of the malted milk [or so I've been told] and the current residence of the Golden Rondelle Theater [designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, who was, incidently, a native of Wisconsin. ] Other noteworthy people from Wisconsin include Laura Ingalls Wilder [of Little House on the Prairie fame. She lived in the Big Woods of Wisconsin] and Harry Houdini. And, yes. I am a wealth of worthless information regarding my city.
Mnemolth
Originally posted by Lady Asphyxia 1) Well, I'm from Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. I'm also currently cursing my mother for moving here from New Zealand, and melting in my own body heat. It is very hot here at the moment. 2) Toowoomba is regarded as "The Garden City" of Australia, despite the fact that New South Wales (or is it Victoria?) is known as the Garden State. It's the Second biggest inland city, the first being Canberra. Toowoomba's around one and a half hours drive from Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland. Toowoomba is also aboriginal for "Swamp"...great name. Every September, we hold a big festival, called the Carnival of Flowers. We have a population of around ninety thousand. We're on the Great Dividing Range, which means it's full of hills. We used to be a volcano, swampy type of place, which is how it got its name. It's pretty safe here. We've left our front door open all day and nothing has happened. Though, that might have something to do with living on a dead end street. I've got friends who've been robbed 4 times by the same guys. 3) Okay, I won't say it. However, I will say, that my Mum, despite knowing it was a good place to raise children, regrets staying here for so long. It's a pretty prejudiced place. If you'r from a different background, or a little strange or something, people won't like you. 4) Discuss about it ...Into which, I'll read, "What is your opinion of it?" Personally, I dislike Toowoomba. I'd rather be somewhere colder, rainer (I love the rain), possible somewhere like Scotland or England. But that's just me. I find this town a little too stifling, and my school, especially, a little too religious. However, it's a nice town. Pretty. Jacaranda's, Liquid Ambers...very very pretty in Autumn. It sort of depends on your tastes.
Er...no, your doubt is justified. New South Wales is the 'Premier' State. *glances over at James and smirks* Hear that? Premier, as in all other States are secondary! :D As for people being prejudiced in Toowomba, well regional Australian towns are not renowned for their ...er ...'multiculturalism'? ;) Why did you move there anyway? One of the coastal cities would have been a better bet. Or the central coast, they're full of weirdos out there. *lol* Yeah drysy might be able to tell you more. :D Oh, and here's a little book to look out for. Its not one of her best work, but it is by one of Australia's best authors, Thea Astley. And she's from Queensland to boot! And the story, well the story's kinda apt for your comment. ;) Here's a link. An Item on the Late News [EDIT]If you're from Toowoomba and Engima is from the same place, who else on here lives in that town? And do you all know each other?[/EDIT]
