Yu Yu Hakusho!
Those were popular people trying to insult you guys. How immature. I get that all the time. I slapped someone the other day...and thankfully, I didn't get in trouble. But they're just trying to be smart asses and trying to act all "cool" .....their usual rudeness. All a bunch of ***$holes. Bandit Joeykuba
This is what really makes me angry: Option A: Walkinto cafeteria, someone has one of those blue lights thingies, flashes it in his/her eyes and says "Look I have BA blue eyes..." Option B: Walink into cafeteria, someone picks up a card from a deulists' deck and says "I know how to play..." sets card down, then proclaims, "I win!" Person runs off. Option c: Walk to table, remains of torn ards scattered across it. Walk off in complete disgust. Option D: Kid walks up, sees cards and says "Hey, I'll buy those Pokeman cards from you." or something like that. Option E: Jerk walks up, sees cards and says "Aren't you to old for that? Grow up and get a life!" and, my favorite, Option F: Kid walks up, "Hey, can I have some of the cards you don't want?" Feel sorry for forementioned kid, give him some whimpy cards. Kid runs off. Later, fing forementioned cards in trash-can, covered in drink, food, and other disgusting objects. All of these HAVE happened to me... P.S. At dances we DO take cards to trade and deul and such, seeing how their banned during school hours, even in home room, thanks to some teacher. We have our own tables in the cafeteria we use during forementioned dances and we're a bunch of people ((all boys, except for me and a friend of mine)) who hate/can't dance. TrickyNicky
It sounds great that there are so many yu-gi-oh fans in your skools! I'm like the only one that i know of. People are too worried about coolness in out skool. Like, I'm the only girl who didn't wear either black to too-tight jeans on our last non-uniform day... I wore baggy dungarees and a really loud hippy-style jumper underneath. People think it's funny when others are different. I reckon half of them like animes like Yu-Gi-Oh and dont like to admit it. Bandit Joeykuba
Yu-Gi-Oh is a craze at my school. I can get on the bus and half of the boys.... okay 3/4 of the boys will be trading YGO cards. So I have no fears of being looked down on... except by snobs. All I have is anger... to those jerks who disrespect what majority of the school likes.
Genkai
Originally posted by Faris There are two twins in my spanish class and they target me. When they found out I played pokemon cards they told the other girls and I was officially a geek. I wouldn't dare buy yu-gi-oh card in case someone found out.
I dun think you should care THAT much about what peple think of you. You already have friends, and if you relax etc. about that stuff youll fit right in. Anyway, only 6th graders really have anything to do with yugiobh in my school, except there are a lot of 7th graders(my age) who discreetly discuss yugioh, and especaially make fun of it, though they watch the show religously..heh heh
egyptgirl
I was the brilliant and brave person in my school to draw out the Yu-Gi-Oh fans. Turns out, unfortunately, I'm the only girl out of ten people who like Yu-Gi-Oh at my school. One time, during a basketball game, my friend and I went to duel and about fifty people walk right through the middle of the duel and about 25 asked what we were playing and about 10 said "Aren't you a little old for Pok`emon?" or " Isn't that for 3rd graders?" No offense to any 3rd graders, of course. I'm just laying down what they said.
DarkMagician
I carry my cards in a really strong box with a lock on it, so only I can get in, I don't need to worry about them being stolen as easily now. But anyway...they walked right through what you and your friend were doing? Geeze...talk about rude. Who knows...maybe those people like Yu-Gi-Oh in secret, and they are just acting....it's a possibility.
Triforce rules
A lot of kids at my school hate, no hate isn't strong enough , I mean despise Yu-Gi-oh. Only younger kids in the 3rd and 2nd game play. Just the other day , I dueled a 2nd grader who played Soul Release and said that it releases the souls of my monsters! Digital Monster
My mum calls all anime that no matter what I watch. I was into Pokemon originally before becoming interested in other anime, so every time she sees me watch anime, whether it be Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, BeyBlade, Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Shinzo, Monster Rancher (yes, I still watch Monster Rancher, I appreciate all anime), she calls it Pokemon. You can't just explain it to my mother.
Genkai
Yeah..My Dad STILL in't sure what YGO is..oy.... D_M, MONSTER RANCHER KICKS ***. Isit still on? I used to watch that, like, religiously..
TheShinje
I don't know what Yu Gi Oh is, evident of the fact that I have never posted here :p, but i do know the argument that you're getting at. It seems, that, no matter how many times you explain it to a non - anime fan, everything is pok'emon. I think it shows a lot of dim wittery on their behalf, i mean, if you're going to insult something. The least they could do is find out about it first off. Even my own anime series, Rising Sun was once called Puk'emon. At this, i nearly vomited my vital organs out  Even though i dont know what Yu Gi Oh is, or what it is about, (heh, you could im me on AIM if you want to explain it) I know I can tell, say, Ryou Bakura , from Ash and jigglypuff . Triforce rules
My dad and a lot of people cal yu-gi-oh! Flu-ji-oh or gumioh or or yujioh . A sign at a card shop said that they have gumioh cards one time. Someone called it pokemon too.
Solo Tremaine
The point is, most of these people don't actually know what they're talking about. Parents will always find it difficult to identify with their children's tastes, but they aren't actually trying to insult anyone. The people who are trying should be the ones you're venting your agressions at. It is frustrating to have something you enjoy 'degraded' as it were, but your parents I'm sure wouldn't mean to unless they actually disapprove of it. And that's usually a fairly unfounded cause anyway. When shops do it, that's just bad management/advertising. You'll have to deal with persecution wherever you are. I shouldn't lecture, but hitting people isn't exactly the best way of getting rid of people who annoy you.
Genkai
It's true. It's be bad if your parentw actually TRIED to insult your anime.. Alsoi, my brother, when he first saw a YGO sign at a store, as a joke, he yelled "YU JI OHHHHHHHH!!!". It wasreally funny.
Bandit Joeykuba
My parents DO make fun of Yu-Gi-Oh... My mom calls it Nugioh. She still calls pokemon pokey-mans and Digimon... well digimon is still digimon. Ane my friends mom calls us anime fans Yugimononians... O.o... Back to the sunject, those stupid kids. They keep making us deulist so mad. I find cards ripped up ALL the time. Oh well, heh, there's two- wait, three more duelists in this world thanks to me and my friend. Kinetic
It's not really that bad when people insult Yu-Gi-Oh, or any other anime or TCG. Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh players alike are made fun of, but no one I know cares. Everyone enjoys their own things and Yu-Gi-Oh happens to be ours. Most people just do it to tease you but they don't really care anyway. And onto the subject of ripping cards, I've ripped many in my time :toothy: Not necessarily good ones, but I do it. No one cares. If the value of Yu-Gi-Oh goes down and I'm tired of the game in a few years, then I'll probably rip all of my good cards up and throw them away. Either that or burn them. Genkai
Well, the older you are, the werider it is to play YGO. I mean, you, Kinetic, and yer friends probably get made fun of more than 4th graders because you're 5 or 6 years older than them, n o? But it's true, we all have our own things. But why get made fun of and like YGO when you could just not duel at school or whatever?
Bandit Joeykuba
School's the only place we CAN duel. Everywhere you could think of deuling, we don't have. I hate living where I do. So school and home are the only places available.
Catzbane
I am to lazy to go back and quote, but I have to say I agree with the person/people who said, You accually got mad??? I do not like the dubbed Yu-Gi-Oh show, I like what I have read of the manga though. But I make fun of the cards, and the show a LOT. Heck, I make fun of a lot of shows. My friends...er kids at school;) might get mad, but I am just used to that sort of thing...I hate it when people make fun of ME for watching Yu-Gi-Oh. And I do not make fun of PEOPLE. If someone makes fun of me for liking it, or playing the game, I just tell them "People have different opinions, and why should they care if I like it." There are some reeeally creepy fans at my school, they will "punch" you or go crazy, or something...they're more fun to make fun of the show in front of. So I suggest, you don't get all mad over something so stupid. :haha: About ripping up the cards, now, those cards are expencive. MANY kids get their cards ripped up...And you shouldn't get mad at people who misunderstand something, or just don't know, like once I misunderstood someone, I thought they said gay gardian, and it was pretty loud in the hallways, like allways, so when I asked him, Gay Gardian?? Are you serious? They misunderstood ME and said, yes...If you don't know what I misunderstood, it was a GATE Gardian. And you know, not EVERYONE is a fan of the show. Eh...it was more rambling off-topic stuff I guess...sorry. -_- And I hope noone got offended that I said my misunderstanding, I forgot the rules...eep.:nervous:
egyptgirl
Why can't someone be smart enough to build one of those Duel-Disk systems like on the show? Digital Monster
Yeah, imagine you put a card in and a Blue Eyes appeared, they'd be scared stiff. Don't swear. -Solo
Genkai
I just duel at home. Or you could justgo to your backyard or something if you crave that crisp air with a hint of pie... Don't ask...
