Kain stood on the balcony of the vampire sanctuary of Meridian, staring out at the town below. Vorador, previous leader of the vampire in htis town, and Khan, one of Kain's first troops stood behind him. The soul reaver rested lightly in Kain's left hand, its viciously sharp point piercing the stone floor at his feet.

Vorador: The sarufan care not that their leader is destroyed... their presistence must be admired.

Kain: There is nothing to admire about these... scum. Soon they will all be dead, and Nosgoth will once again belong to me. Now that the sarufan lord has been destroyed, no one can stand up to my power.

Vorador: No Kain, no single man can beat you now... but if they bring their army, you can still be defeated.

Kain: I am aware of that. I have already decided what our cource of action shall be.

Kain turned to face the other vampires, his dark gaze filling both of them with fear.

Kain: We will gather the strongest vampires from nearby cities, and raise an army strong enough to counter the sarufan masses. Vorador, you will stay here, and start disabling the sarufan resources here in Meridian. That is your role, do not disapoint me.

Vorador bowed, then turned and left the balcony. Khan stood firmly at his position, and Kain approached him.

Kain: Khan, my best soldier, I have a task of great responsibility that I wish you to carry out.

Khan: I will do anything that you ask my lord.

Kain: As always. I require you to go to the city of Raspeth... and recruit all vampires you can for my army. Kill any vampire who supports the sarufan, and destroy any resistance you may come across. But, do try to be subtle.

Khan: As you command. What will you do my lord?

Kain: I will go firstly to Normus, Meridian's sister town. There is something on the way... that is of great interest to me. Go now Khan.

Khan bowed low, then urned and entered the sanctuary, off to prepare for his journey. Kain turned, and stared at the streets below, at the partolling sarufan guards and civilians, seemingly unaware of the torment that would await them.

Kain: Raziel, Turel, Dumah, Rahab, Zephon and Melchiah... the 6 of pure spirit, mightiest of sarufan priests, will soon be under my control. The sarufan camp between Meridian and Normus will not be undisturbed for long. The Soul Reaver and its bearer are coming for them.

With that, Kain leapt from the balcony, landing on another high rooftop almost 50 feet away from the sanctuary. Another jump took him over 100 feet along towards the outskirts of town. He landed on a roof, looking down at the part of the town considered the slums.

Kain: The place where I awoke from 400 years of torment. Umah... she woke me. She could have been my queen, but she betrayed me, and has paid the appropriate price.

With another mighty leap, Kain landed in an alleyway very close to the gates leading out of town. Two sarufan guards stood at their posts on either side of the gate. Without hesitation or fear, Kain stepped out into the street to face them.

Sarufan1: A vampire!

Both guards charged towards Kain, their long swords drawn, but Kain stood still, left hand bracing the Soul Reaver's hilt. One guard stabbed at him, Kain side stepped, and brouth the Soul Reaver about in an arc, taking the head from his attacker. Before the other could react, Kain had one of his mighty hands grasping at the sarufan's throat. Kain lifted him into the air with ease, and stared into his eyes.

Kain: I will give you the honour of knowing, sarufan, that you will die at the hands of the vampire who will very soon be the ruler of Nosgoth. I hope this brings you some comfort, as yu spend the rest of eternity in agony.

Kain thrust the Soul Reaver forward, stabbing the sarufan through the face. Blood gushed from the wound, as he went limp, and collapsed to the floor, eyes upturned into his head. Kain drank of their blood, yeling wth delight as he felt his lore (strength) increase once again. He held out one hand, and shot out a telikinetic orb at the crank to open the gate. The gate's crank swung around, which shot the gate upwards. Kain marched out of Meridian's gates proudly. His reign, was about to begin.

Artemis stared out at the stars. The land of Nosgoth was in turmoil, even though the great lord Kain had killed the Sarufan lord. Artemis smiled grimly as he heard the sarufan yelling about the corpse in the street. He licked his blood-stained lips in anticipation as he drew out his katana, slicing a fine line in the air. He ran at them, killing the first one before he was even seen. The second one was stabbed in the chest before anyone could see what happened to him. The third was the only one to know that Artemis Belmont was near. The famous vampire sank his teeth into the last guard's neck, slowly getting a nice dessert after that rich sarufan earlier. He smiled as he heard Siren's familiar song wafting through the still night air. Almost hypnotized, he slowly drifted through the streets to the sound of his "angel's" voice. Would she ever know that he loved her? He stopped just under her window, smiled, and looked back out into the streets. What he saw surprised him. He jumped up, appropriating himself in the proprer salute to Khan, Kain's right-hand vampire.

Artemis:Commander Khan!

Khan:Enough with the salute, "Leuitenant" Artemis. I hate that. Why did we even decide to take military titles? It is too...too human.

Artemis:Ah, well. So, you are here for some reason?

Khan:Yes. Lord Kain is assembling a force to drive away the Sarufan. It shall be comprised of the strongest, most loyal vampires. You are one such vampire, and your fame is widespread, Artemis Belmont. You are the only vampire besides Kain and myself, though you have no reason for it, to have murdered over one-thousand sarufan. You indeed would be a valuable asset to our cause.

"You! How did you get that sword?!"

A young man wearing a long black cloak with black hair pulled behind him held there with a large hat stepped from the shadows looking at Kain. Kain reguarded him.

'That information is none of your business.'

The man looks at him and nods. He had the general make up of a Sarufan but he was unmistakably vampiric. He also seemed to wield a sword on his back so long that the handle protruded from the left side of his body and the end of the sheathe.

"My name is Nazereth. I apologize but I don't recognize you. Who may you be?"

'I am Kain of Nosgoth, and you are?'

"My name is Nazereth. That is all i know about my name, but You say you are Kain... As in THE Kain!?"

Kain had given a slight nod as he continued walking, Nazereth walked along with him. He had his hands shoved in his cloak.

'Yes, Nazereth? I've heard rumors as one as you. If you want to travel with me, i see now quarrel about it.... for now.'

Nazereth didn't speak another word as he walked on next to/behind the great vampire kain.

OOC sorry it's so short, i'm being rushed.

As Kain walked through the barren desert-like wasteland that lay at the feet of the city of Meridian, he stopped dead in his tracks, snarling while bearing his fangs. Someone was out there.

Kain: "Show yourself, coward, and I may kill you quickly for not hindering my work!"

?????: "Now is that any way to talk to an old friend?"

Using a skill which was well known by all vampires, this creature that lurked in the shadows merely hopped forward. Even in the shadow of the cavernous walls, Kain knew who this was.

Kain: "Medra?! But you were killed in the ambush! What trickery are the Sarafan using now?!"

Medra: "Kain, you of all people should know how hard I am to kill. When I think back to that fateful night, as you often do, you must remember that I was at your side the whole time."

Kain: "And I also suppose you sold yourself to the Sarafan so they would not eliminate you, correct?"

Medra: "Not quite. I went into hiding in the wilds of Nosgoth. I've become so much stronger than I was when your reign was over-thrown. And now, brother, I have come to help you in your hour of need. Provided you shall let by-gones be by-gones."

Kain: "I hope, for your sake, you are indeed honest, Medra. The last time you did something like this, you tried to steal the Soul Reaver."

Just then, a patrole of ten Sarafan Elite Guards rounded the corner that came into the gates that seperated the city from the wastelands.

Medra: "Wonderful. Now I can show you that I am loyal to none other than you, Sire."

With that said, Medra hurled himself forward, his enlongated and enriched claws flashing against steel, biting into flesh, and ripping through bone...

Kain shows a wry smile as Medra demonstrates his brutal skill. As he watches, he hears something. It sounds like metal scraping against the cobbled stone path behidn him. Kain turns around to see a gaunt figure stumbling towards him, holding a large steel blade in one hand, dragging along the ground. His other arm is wrapped around his torso, holding it tighly. He looks hurt. Kain waits as the figure makes his way toward him.

Azmudan: You must be... Kain.

Kain: And who are you?

Azmudan: My name is Azmudan. I've heard of your struggle to reclaim Nosgoth... And I wish to aid you.

Kain raises an eyebrow as he surveys Azmudan.

Kain: Your intentions are noble, Azmudan, but your condition seems frail.

Azmudan: I know... Centuries of torture aren't good for one's composure.

Kain: Centuries of torture?

Azmudan: Yes... The infernal Sarafan have had me imprisoned in torment for a long time. Not long after you were born again as a vampire, I was captured. News of your uprising has given me a new will to live.

Kain: I admire your endurance, Azmudan. And by way of your age, I'd say you have a fair load of experience behind you. Will you join me?

Azmudan: I would be honoured, sire.

Azmudan bows his head to Kain, and looks past him, to Medra, who is bludgeoning the Sarafan elite, one by one. Azmudan grins, and goes to join him in the fight, but Kain puts a hand on his shoulder, and holds Azmudan back.

Kain: That is Medra, a companion who I've known for a long time. I would advise you to stay out of his way in battle, and for the sake of your life, don't get on his bad side.

Azmudan: I thank you for the forewarning, Kain, but I'd much rather prove my worth to the both of you.

Azmudan clutches his blade in both hands, and launches into battle against the remaining Sarafan elite.

Medra slowly slid the very tips of his claws into one of the Sarafan Elite Guards' back, before twisting straight upwards with his entire hand, ripping the upper torso of his foe straight in half. The heavy best of a man was in pieces on the ground. Sabastian, had he still been alive, would be proud of such a rightous blood-letting.

While Medra feasted upon his prey, the last Elite Guard began to silently advance towards the vicious vampire. Stalking the killer, the Guard brought his archer blade high up, ready to make the final blow.

However, the Guard was simply decapitated from behind, Azmudan's handy-work.

At the sound of the Elite Guard falling over in a clanking pile of metal, Medra abruptly stopped drinking the blood of his enemies, to turn around to face Azmudan, of whom stood unmoved in the least.

Medra dashed forward, before even Azmudan or Kain had time to realize that he had moved, and got up in Azmudan's face.

Medra: "...Does it look like I needed HELP?! Don't you know how many patoles and escorts there are around here? The next one could've been your buffet. But no. You had to go and take MY kills. ...What is the matter with you? Can you not respect someone's slaughter?"

Azmudan: "I didn't see you attacking the Guard. Besides, you killed and drank nine of them, not to mention two of the nobels in the charage."

Medra: "THAT'S NOT THE POINT!!"

Rage flowing through his veins, Medra threw his arms out to the side, while lowering himself closer to the ground. An offencive position. Medra's claws extended even longer, coming to a halt at six inces long, and very much so dagger-like. One hit could have probably killed just about anything with those claws, but Azmudan still stood, uncaring.

Kain: "Medra. Calm yourself. You had your fun. Azmudan here was just getting some enjoyment himself. Trust me, there will be far more Sarafan bodies at your feet in due time."

Medra slowly raised himself upwards, back into a non-attacking position.

Medra: "Yes. Of course. I apologize for losing my temper. I am Medra, and it is nice to meet you, Azmudan."

Azmudan: "Likewise... Now, I believe Kain here was on his way to do something, was he not?"

Kain: "Indeed I was. I was heading to Meridian's sisten town, Normus. Something there has caught my intrest, and I must retrieve it. And I'm sure the Sarafan camp would love a visit from a vampire. But three? Oh, but they will be tickled to death!"

Medra: *chuckles slightly* "Same, old Kain. Always the comedian..."

From somewhere off into the desert, the sirens at the Sarafan Outpost rang out. Something was happening...

OOC: alright that doesn't necessarily make sense, i guess by the way you guys are posting that I'm not welcome in your rpg because i am technically in that group and your posts hasn't even included me even being there let alone saying anything so I'll just drop out now that way I can spare myself the humiliation of further ignoring.

Aww, chill out Arikel. You just gotta calm down and do the voodoo that only yoodoo! Urgh...sorry about that. I live in Louisiana, pretty close to the French Quarter, to boot.

Artemis unfurled his emerald wings from under his cloak, admiring the gift from the vampiric god, Dracule. He then floated silently on the air to Siren, landing just behind her as she stopped under an oak tree, the tree that Artemis had sworn to protect her for eternity under. Now, tears fell lightly from her eyes.

Artemis:You don't have to do this, Siren. If Kain himself tried to hurt you, I would stand against him. Even if he simply insulted you herbal tea brew, which even you and I may drink.

Siren:But Artemis...they would kill me...

Artemis:And I would protect you, as I always have. You never needed much protection, yet I always appeared at your side when you were in need.

Siren:Yes, I know. And that is more than enough for mere friendship. I often wondered why you did that, but I never could ask you.

Artemis:Well, I suppose I must tell you before we go out to war and get ourselves killed. I...I've been in love with you for all of seven centuries and more. I love you dearest of all, though it may seem impossibe for a vampire to love. Alas that I am one of the few vampires that still has a human soul. But forever and eternities more, I love you, Siren...

OOC:Yeah....sorry to make this kind of mushy for a vampire RPG, but it is 4:30 in the morning, I haven't slept in three days(damned school reports...WHY DO THEY NEVER STOP COMING?!?), and it is taking all of my focus NOT to screw up on my goddang (I never swear using God's name) typing 'cause I gotta be an example for newbie RP'ers. Damn my nobility. Next post will be bloodier and at least have three SARUFAN murders in it, I swear!

Kain: With the ring of the bell, our time draws near. Come now, all of you, I wish to reach the sarufan before the sun does. Azmudan, if you can keep up with us until then, you shall have a feast, which will more than recover all of your strength. You have the word of Kain.

Azmudan: I cannot refuse such an opportunity. Make no mistake, I shall not trail.

Medra: I have waited long to see the day that I should once again charge into battle with you Kain. No longer shall we linger in shadow.

A look of pure aggresion was in Kain's eyes. He raised the Soul Reaver to the air, and yelled furiously. Even in the dark of the night, the Soul Reaver gleamed with the power and fury of it's master. Kain charged, Medra and Azmudan close behind. All their fangs were hungry to taste more blood, and they moved like blurs through the barren land. Within moments, they were looking down at the sarufan camp, which was hidden within a trough in the land. Kain looked at Medra, and at Azmudan. Both were eager to charge down there, but were disciplined enough to wait for Kain's order.

Kain: Both of you... have fun. Drink your fill, and leave no one alive. I have... work to do. I will not be long.

With that, Kain leapt down the steep canyon wall towards the camp. Medra and Azmudan reacted instantly, following him into the trough. Arrows cut through the air, but they either missed, or were cut in half by the vampires' claws. Kain noticed the floor had a thin fog about it. Perfect.

Kain landed on the ground, instantly seeming to disappear. Azmudan realised this must have been one of Kain's dark gifts, and Medra recognised it instantly. They watched for a moment as sarufan heads were cut from their bodies by a seemingly invisible force.

Kain (Whisper*): If I am not back before you finish, come to the tomb upon the hill. I will be there. Have fun, my friends.

Both vampires heard Kain's voice, and sneered with pleasure, as they charged into the sarufan camp.

*Vampire's in Blood Omen have the ability to "whisper" to each other. This means they can communicate through their minds, at any distance.

OOC: Wow, this started? I really need to find these things out sooner...or something.

_______

She was seated, as usual, at her normal table, in the middle of the room. The usual crowd was there; Prostitutes, murderers, thieves, vagabonds, and the list went on. There were probably some insane ones here too.

Ostea was, she mused, an all around nice place. Except of course, for the Sarufen. And, for the humans, the childer probably weren't that nice, either.

Standing up, Raellyra made her way towards the bar tender, signalling for another drink. It looked, she knew, like ale to everyone else. However, it was just water. She didn't hold her alcahol well. Changing her mind suddenly, Rae spun and walked out of the bar, running smack bang into a Sarufen soldier. She eyed him, sizing him up as an opponent. Easy. He was new here; he didn't know the run of things. And he was scared. Oh, this would have been fun. Unfortunately, she wasn't in the mood.

Smiling innocently, she turned and walked away silently, surprized about her lack of enthusiasm tonight. It wasn't normal. And yet, everything was the same. Wasn't it?

That was the problem, Rae knew. Because Ostea was so gaurded by the Sarufen, news was slow in getting here, especially seeing as they didn't let people into the city at night. Perhaps you could leave... a voice whispered. Raellyra whirled around. Nothing. Fellow vampire, perhaps? Shrugging, Rae continued on her way once more.

Azmudan raised his blade up high, swinging it around and decapitating several Sarafan guards. Azmudan chuckled, and pulled his mask down, devouring their now free souls. He bent down, grabbing one by the chest, and bit into his neck, drinking down as much blood as he could. There was a noise. He turned around slowly, to see a group of Sarafan warriors charging at him. With a grin, Azmudan grasped his cleaver, and held it in one arm, above his head. At once, his Metamorphis power activated, and the cleaver changed drastically.

It immediately lost its former appearance, and changed to something resembling a lance. The shaft of the lance coiled around at the end, splitting into two seperate spears. Azmudan whispered to it; 'Fly true..', before hurling it at the soldiers, marching towards him in a line.

Needless to say, the effect was devasting. The Sarafan had no time to react before all being impaled through the head with the lance. It went through each of their skulls with ease, hardly losing speed at all. It rammed into a stone wall, ending it's violent flight. In all, six Sarafan soldiers had been impaled headwise, and were hanging on the lance from them. It was a gruesome sight, but one that pleased Azmudan. He called his lance back, and it flew back into his hand, and changed back to the long, hefty cleaver. Azmudan ate the souls of the Sarafan before moving in to drink from their veins.

It had been a long time since such he had such a feast.

Before Siren could answer him, a stealth Sarufan archer had nocked an arrow to his bow, aimed it, and loosed it. Artemis now had an arrow lodged in his chest, barely missing his heart, blood dripping down his stomach and arm. Siren screamed, trying to help Artemis stand as three more Sarufan trudged from the shadows.

ArcherThere 'e is! Let's get 'im and save the girl!!!

Fighter:I'll chop his head off, you two handle calming her down!

Priest:Indeed. She has nearly become one of Satan's children, we must comfort her.

Siren smiled as she realized that the Sarufan thought she was a maiden about to be bitten by Artemis. She stood, throwing her arms around the priest....but not to thank him. The priest was drained of blood before he knew what was happening. As he fell to the ground, his neck split wide open, his eyes exploding from the pressure-loss, Artemis rose, katana in his hand and arrow in his chest, to meet the warrior sword-to-sword. The Sarufan let his blade fly in an arc that would have cut steel to ribbons, and Artemis let his katana fly. The broadsword of the Sarufan was cleft in two in a bright flash of white light. The archer fired an arrow at Artemis, who merely picked up the warrior and moved him in front of the arrow, killing him. Siren then smiled and clawed open the archer's neck, letting his blood fall to the ground, wasted. She moved over to Artemis, who sat down next to the tree, leaning against it. She began to drink his blood from the wound, coaxing him into a healing sleep as he whispered to his old friend Nazareth, miles away.

Artemis:Old friend, it is I, Artemis. Today is a fine day.....Siren drinks my blood tonight, though. Heh....I had a rich man and his daughter for supper, though. My friend....come back to your hometown. I have gifts for you on our quest.

Kain made his way swiftly to the entrance of the tomb. It was heavily guarded, but that worried him not. He charged in, Soul Reaver raised high above his head. He ran straight into the centre of the gazebo like tomb, and the Sarafan guands surrounded him. He swung his Soul Reaver with speed and grace, and its tip ripped through the throat of one Sarafan guard. A Sarafan charged at him with his own sword, and slashed downwards. Kain turned, and blocked the attack with the Soul Reaver in one arm, and then he brought the Reaver down in a cutting ark, taking the Sarafan's legs from his body. The Sarafan fell to the floor, screaming, moments before the Soul Reaver was driven through his face.

Kain: If you are so eager to come to your death's, then come quickly, I have work to do.

As if in reacion, the remaining guards simultaneously charged towards Kain, all with their swords in attacking positions. Kain leapt easily above them as they were only inches away, and one Sarafan was idiotic enough to slash another guard through the chest. Kain landed, turning in one swift motion, and taking another guards head off. One remained, and he felt fear. He was hesitant, and backed away a step. Kain raised his hand, and launched out a orb of telikinetic energy which knocked him against the wall. Then, he picked up one of the swords of the dead Sarafan, and tossed it towards the guard. It struck the guard through the neck, delivering him a swift but agonising death. Kain, despite his rush, took great pleasure in drinking the blood of each of them, before he moved onto his task.

There were six coffins in the room. They all had names above the coffins embedded in stone. Raziel, Turel, Dumah, Rahab, Zephon and Melchiah, the six most powerful Sarafan priests, who had all been killed by swarms of vampires. Kain planned to bring them back, to bring them back as vampires. Who would be a better soldier than someone who had no memory other than being in my service. Kain thought. One by one he went about the coffins, ripping the covers off, to reveal siz deathly white bodies, though not decomposing, and still threatening, even in death. Then, he pulled out a small pouch, and went over to the tomb of Raziel. He gathered a spirnkle of the substance within the pouch, and sprayed it over Raziel's corpse.

Kain: Rise, Raziel, first of my Sarafan leutenants.

He proceeded to go around all the coffins.

Kain: Rise, Turel, rival of Raziel.

Kain: Rise, Dumah, lover of power and strength.

Kain: Rise, Rahab, priest of water and anger.

Kain: Rise, Zephon, lover of arachnid life.

Kain: Rise, Melchiah, youngest of the priests.

Kain knew it would take hours for the process to complete. He stood in the middle of the tomb, he knew that the corpses would be able to hear, and comprehend Kain's orders.

Kain: Listen to me, all of you. I am Kain, your master, you will obey no one but me. When you awake, I shall not be here, so do this. Around you, you will find many corpses. Take what weapons and armour that you will, and then make haste to the town of Normus. You are vampires now, and I'm sure that you are eager to feed.

With that, Kain turned, and ran out of the tomb, eager to get back to the camp and battle more Sarafan. He was still very hungry.

Kain ran down a small path leading from the tomb and was about to leap back into battle when a figure materialzed in front of him. It was a young vampire, pale blue skin. He stood with no emotion staring at Kain.

Kain: Out of my way young one, or i'll kill you in the time it takes to blink!

The figure dropped o one knee.

Azriel: Forgive me. I have looked for you for a long time. I wish to aid you in your battle with the Sarufan. My name is Azriel.

Kain: Well young Azriel, i will test your loyalty and skill in this fight with the Sarufan.

Azriel: As you wish my lord

Kain leapt into battle, Soul reaver in hand. Azriel moved from the small path into the battle fiel with the blink of an eya and was already slashing away at Sarufan fighters with his swrod

Suddenly Raziel's eyes opened to a sword held in his own hands against several Sarafan. The sword, which he did not recognise nor remember why he was attacking these people with it, swung around violently taking off limbs and heads. He had no memory of anything before this moment and all he heard in the back of his mind where these words: "Listen to me, all of you. I am Kain, your master, you will obey no one but me. When you awake, I shall not be here, so do this. Around you, you will find many corpses. Take what weapons and armour that you will, and then make haste to the town of Normus. You are vampires now, and I'm sure that you are eager to feed."

Upon killing his victims Raziel opened his mouth to have the blood from their corpses fly directly to his mouth. A great strength seemed to fill his body, his muscles pulsated and he felt renewed. He swung his sword now with a new lust for blood. Looking around there seemed to be five other people also killing the Sarafan and Raziel felt that he knew them, as if they had some kind of link. The sword in his hand was the same as those of the Sarafan, he most likely stole it from one of them.

Rahab was dazed and confused. He knew little about the situation at hand. There was a few thoughts going through his mind at the moment and they who are these other people fighting along side me? why were i fighting these people and who was this Kain person who claimed he was my master. He closed his eyes as he cut one of the sarafan in half. The thirst for blood quenched in his vains. He quite enjoyed what he was doing, and if slicing them up werent enough he drained his victims bodies of what little blood was left. A grin spred across his face as his fifth victim feel before him, blood spraying in all directions. One of the Srafan came running up behind him, with his sword in the air, ready to attack. Quickly reacting to the situation, Rahab darted towards him. In a blink of an eye, Rahab was standing still behind the sarafan warrior. The guy stood motionless. Rahab lowered his head and gazed at what he was holding in his left hand. The sarafan warrior dropped to the fall as Rahab took a big chunk out of the pulseating heart. This is all to easy. He thought to himself. Trning around, Rahab slowly walked up to the coapse. He drove his claws into its stomach and highered the blood soaked body to his face. Taking his right hand, Rahab crushed the Sarafan warriors skull and ripped his head clean off the shoulders. The spinel chord still attached, he raised the head over his mouth and let the blood slowly drip down the spine and into his mouth.

Just a thing or two before I begin...

Firstly, in Blood Omen, Vampires don?t bite people?s neck, they suck the blood from bodies at a distance, sucking it straight to their mouths.

And secondly, I have nothing more to say

Deep within the heart of the forests separating Meridan and Raspeth, Khan walked. He walked with great haste like he had a purpose, which he did. He was to find any vampires loyal and willing to fight for Kain and destroy all those against Kain or working with the Sarafan. A few yards away in the trees to the left a small fire lit the dark forest, sat around it were several gypsies. Khan took no notice of this and continued to walk, his gaze set in the direction he was heading. He could see just ahead of him that the path headed into small undergrowth. Khan just continued to walk. Just as he reached the undergrowth his blade slipped into his hands. He began cutting through the undergrowth as it were a warm knife through butter.

Khan continued his swift movement cutting down all that blocked his way. Suddenly, in the corner of his eye Khan caught a slight glint of light coming from a small crevice in the rock. The cliff face was totally black except for the dull blue light coming from the crack. Khan forced his way in, literally crumbling the rock as he forced his large figure inside. He found himself in a tunnel, which led to the blow light. Khan could see that this tunnel slowly descended, he followed it downward. He walked a few feet and entered a large chamber, which the tunnel had led him to.

Inside the chamber, in the very middle was a large blue orb. In each of the four misshapen corners were what appeared to be mirrors all facing that orb. Khan being the curious vampire that he is walked towards the orb. He reached out his hand and toughed the orb, only to have a beam from all four mirrors hit him all at once. Khan instantly fell to one knee, only to realise that he did not feel weaker, yet stronger. He could feel a new sensation flow through his fingers. Khan did not know what had happened but he would soon find out. He began his climb back out of the cave and back to his previous path, again cutting his way through all that blocked him on his trail to Raspeth.

Medra was growing bored of this. He had attacked the Sarafan Elite Guards and the Sarafan Heavy Guards first, all of which were dead now. Not even bothering to drain the bodies of blood, Medra just continued on with his killing spree. Every couple of seconds, he'd attack whatever was in his line of sight with Demon Slash, just for the fun of overkill.

Azmudan was obviously having fun with his soul and blood sucking. Strange, to be able to absorb both essentials from humans. Very strange indeed.

But now Sarafan Regulars and Knights felt it was nessicary to attack Medra. How cute.

Slashing in wide semi-circles, guards dropped like flies as Knights stayed back to see if the Guards would indeed survive. Each hit that Medra gave out meant another Sarafan was dead.

But then, something happened. More Guards swrmed in, joined with Knights. The sheer mass of them weighed Medra down. Each began taking small stabs at the vampire, but most never hit home. But something inside Medra changed. Something inside his mind, inside his body.

Glowing with a black radiance, Medra sprang straight up, roaring through the night. He hovered in the air, before slipping downwards back towards the camp.

When he hit, the ground within arm's reach shattered. The Sarafans, about twenty in all, slowly backed away, until a large-mouthed Guard signaled a charge.

Medra, tattered and torn, began his power trip. Hacking away at the on-coming opponents, Medra slashed one after another, cutting each down to side, using his Maul skill to the very extent of his body's capibilities. His claws grew to over a foot in length, every nail. They also became double-sided, as each Sarafan warrior fell. The camp...was now desolate.

Medra drank blood until he was fully regenerated, and then some. His body slightly increased in size, due to the fact that his current lore nearly about trippled...

It was at this time that Medra saw Kain, along with some other vampire. Medra and Azmudan appoached, both fully restored and stronger than ever.

Medra: "Lord Kain...glad to see you made it back in one piece..."

Kain: "Indeed as I am..but tell me. What was that? You were outnumbered drastically...and yet you slaughtered those scum like you were killing a peasant."

Medra: "A secret skill of mine. I used it once before even you had fallen to...him...but due to it's obvious strain, I never used it. But, apparently, I have mastered it."

Azmudan: *wipes a masive amount of blood from his lip, and proceeds to lick it off of his hand* Indeed it seems. Now Sire, who is this...?"

Okay, Super Gohan, you cannot have that teleport ability, this is not a Draginball Z RPG for hell's sake.

Kain: This is Azriel I believe. He is but a child who wishes to serve me. I have yet to find a test for... wait. Azriel, I have found your test.

Azriel: What do you wish of me Kain?

An enourmus sneer spread across the face of Kain. It drove fear into Azriel, but Medra welcomed it. Azmudan was puzzlied, he did not fear Kain, but he did not know him as well as Medra did.

Kain: You shall fight Medra, child.

Medra's grin could eve be seen by the blind at this point, he was going to enjoy this.

Kain: What's the matter boy? Now you have doubts, I can smell the fear around you. Realise boy, I need only the strong to serve me, and Medra is one of my best. If you can beat him, then you will have proven your strength, but that will be impossible for such a child. I shall make it easier for you though, if you can so but wound him once, then you can follow me. But, if as I suspect, Medra here tears you apart, then you will get out of my sight, and stop living in your disilusioned world.

Azriel was shattered with fear, as he slowly drew his sword. Kain was disgusted with him already, showing such fear. Kain had never done such a thing, even when he was terribly outclassed. He looked over at Medra, who was enjoying every second of it. He could see now Medra's loyalty, he was prepared quite willingly to attack a fellow vampire, who he had no quarrel against. That was the kind of soldier Kain needed.

Kain: Enjoy the fight, the winner shall be the first one to find myself and Azmudan. We shall be heading again towards Normus. Oh, and Medra, try not to kill him... if you can help it.

Medra: "But of course, Sire. I shall see if this boy can take the pressure of being so honored so to serve you..."

Kain: "Excellent. Just like I remember. You always were loyal. Now then, Azmudan, come quickly. We need to make some progress towards Normus."

As Kain and Azmudan took off into the night, Medra could see Azriel literally quaking in fear. Medra knew the thoughs that raced through the child's mind. 'How will I do this, where can I attack, does he have a weak point?' All for not. This was going to be a total slaughter.

Azriel, acting very naive, took the direct approach, and slashed at Medra. His sword, however, bit nothing but air, as Medra had vaulted clear over the young one's head, and was already climbing the cavern's wall as if he was on fire.

Standing on top of the hill, Medra stared Azriel down. With such haste, however Azriel tried to jump up, and catch a footing on the cliff wall. How pathetic. He slid back down, dirtying his armor, and making even more of a fool of himself. Medra laughed evilly at this, of course, seeing that his opponent didn't even have the common sense to climb the wall as he did.

Medra watched in amusement at Azriel repeated the process. But this time, as Azriel stumbled back up, he was punched right in the kisser by Medra, as the vicious vampire had used his Jump skill to attack his opponent while still gaining advantage of being in very close of range.

While Azriel was disoriented, Medra circled the child, like a shark waiting for his prey to bleed out from a bite. Medra's claws only came out about an inch from his fingertips, but at this rate, Azriel wouldn't last but a few minutes, even with only one strike at a time.

Azriel recovered his sense of mind, and launched himself at Medra, whom simply side-stepped and laughed as Azriel stumbled once more. But this time, Medra was more violent in his attack. Azriel found himself screaming in pain as Medra's claws found their way into his shoulder, making Azriel slightly convulse due to shock.

Medra backflipped, only to dash forward once again, to land a wide swipe right in Azriel's chest. The result was devistating, as Azriel hurled backwards towards the Sarafan camp, crashing though some crates.

Azriel was in some serious pain, but that was dulled by the fear that Medra had around him like a noose around his neck. By the time Azriel had stood back up, he was very likely to wet himself, because Medra, was hovering just above him, floating down like some bizzare, demonic Angel of Death.

When Medra landed silently, he went all out with his Maul skill. Though the slashes weren't deep or long, they still caused a GREAT deal of pain. In a mere few minutes, Azriel's armor was hacked into ribbons, and his body was battered severly. Medra puffed a sigh of disapointment.

Medra: "Child, are you serious? Is this the best you can offer. I hit you once, and you fall. I hit you again, and you writhe in agony. I hit you with a skill of mine, and you are likely to pass out. Please, boy, you aren't even worth killing. Go drink blood from some rats, child, because you are obviously fodder prey. Get out of my sight."

With that, Medra turned to walk off and climb back up the cliff wall. But as soon as his hands had found a hold on the wall, the area was bathed in a strange blue color. Medra turned around, to find this light was emitting from Azriel's sword. Something was up.

Azriel: "Taste the power of Edge Charge!!"

Azriel dashed forward, in an attempt to impale Medra in a full-out frontal attack. But Medra dove downwards, completely avoiding Azriel's blade. And with a single, hasteless motion, Medra shoved his claws, now around eight inches long, and very much so deadly, right into Azriel's stomach, impaling his kidneys, with the tips of the claws slashing through his back. A gruesome sight, that Medra then threw into the middle of the camp.

Medra spit near the fallen child, a mark of rage. But instead of killing the boy right then and there, Medra ran off to follow Kain and Azmudan.

Azriel had just about given up trying to hold on to his last little thread of life, about an hour afterwards, when he saw a nobleman on the ground. One of the slaughterees. He had not been drained of his blood. Azriel crawled with all of his might, and began to slowly yet surely regain just enough blood to stagger back to the Meridian slums to find something to eat...

.:Elsewhere:.

Kain and Azmudan had stopped to kill one of the bug-monsters that had caused such a big problem for travelers, when Medra came flying down behind them by a good twenty feet. He had jumped overall about 200 feet, from the top of the canyon, all of the way down to the rut where his Vampire brethren were.

Kain: "Medra? Hmm. I take it Azriel did not fare well against you."

Medra: "Not a single hit was taken against me, and not a bread of sweat did I drop."

Kain: "I suspected as much. Did you kill him, or leave him to suffer with the agony of watching his death come closer by the minute?"

Medra: "I left him to die in a puddle of his own blood. He wasn't even worth attacking with any serious mallice. Pathetic, really..."

Azmudan: "A shame, really. Our cause seems to be wavering. With only a select few vampires that actually may be strong enough to help us, and even less due to the fact that some have commited such a disguesting treason."

Kain: "Indeed our situation looks bleak. But we shall immerge triumphant from this. As long as we keep fighting, we will win. But for now, we need to continue on..."

Lacroix strode off the dais with a typically annoyed expression. His lyranthe hung over his shoulder, his took a single glance at the outraged man in front of him.

Lacroix: You got what you wanted.

Man: I ask you to play, and you devise a satire to sting all my guests to perdition! Who are you, to cruelly manipulate fate as such!

Lacroix: Prey you never know.

The man suddenly shook once, and went limp. His skin seemed to shimmer for a second, and then lightened abruptly, as blood traced swift arcs through veins, to explode out the neck. The gaping wounds poured blood in an uncanny stream that flew towards Lacroix's mouth. He smiled grimly, as blood flooded into his body.

When it was finished, he turned to the guests, and licked his blood stained teeth once. That was all it took. They fled screaming.

Lacroix turned, and strode out the door.

Lacroix: For just once, why can't people except that I really don't like them?

Finally, the three approached Normus from the North. It was buzzing with Sarafan guards, just like Meridian. Kain stood atop a hill, a vicious thunder storm was following him, it seemed. Medra and Azmudan were at his sides, observing the environment.

Kain: Okay, lets just make sure we all understand our objective here. There are humans in this town, they hate the Sarafan so much that they are willing to work for vampires to rid themselves of the Sarafan. We must seek these people out, and tell them to instruct any passing vampires to seek out Vorador in Meridian. This is, if they wish to work for me. Also, feel free to eat as you please, and don't be afraid to endulge in the blood of a few more Sarafan.

Medra: These vampire supporters... they will be in hiding no doubt?

Kain: I would suspect so. Check every alley and sewer, do not rest until you have found atleast one vampire supporter.

Azmudan: I love a good hunt.

With that, the three vampires started down the hill towards the gates of Normus.

As Kain aproached the city Ryo was informed of Kains arrival almost imediately. In a rather dark tower that had seemed to be destroyed as it had a few broken beams laying around and Ryo was sitting on a collapsed stone wall that had a view of the Cities North quarter.

Ryo: Kain has arrived here has he?

Man: Yes, we would like to meet him and find out his intentions..

Ryo: I will not interfere with the affairs of this world, you should already know that. There is but one reason why I met with your group, we have a common enemy. So take your request elsewhere maybe to another vampire who cares about this more than I do.

The man then leaves Ryo's presence...

This is not an attack on you Craig but I?d just like to state that both Kain and Vorador (and probably many other vampires) have the ability to teleport, as you should know from playing Soul Reaver.

Khan?s path led him to the edge of a small cliff no more than a hundred yards up. He looked down, noticing that there was a fairly large Sarafan camp at the bottom. Khan sneered to himself. This is what he enjoyed the most, taking the heads of the Sarafan his hated enemies, also this is what his master wished that he did. Directly below him talking were five Sarafan soldiers. Khan thought these his first victims. He leapt down the cliff without hesitation landing with his unsheathed blade going straight through the head of the first soldier.

As Khan looked up to the others one ran off to alert the rest of the camp while the remaining three drew their weapons. The first soldier leapt at Khan. Khan quickly moved to his left, sword still impaling the first soldier, and gripped the attacking soldier?s throat. Then in one swift movement he threw the soldier back at the other two and returned to his standing position. All three fell over. Pathetic He thought to himself as they all stumbled to get up. Khan then retracted the sword from the soldier?s head and spun round taking off the head of one soldier. Then spinning again he dropped to his knees to take out the legs of the next soldier then flip back up to launch his sword into the remaining ones chest. With the last soldier still on the blade Khan spun his sword again to face the camp, throwing the soldier into one of the nearby tents. All this had happened in the space of 20-30 seconds, by which time the rest of the camp were heading his way.

About ten Sarafan were now surrounding Khan. He could hear their hearts beating with fear, or maybe he was just hungry. He propelled himself through the air, taking out the abdomen?s of three Sarafan as he went. The others turned to face Khan but he was already running circles around them attacking their heads and limbs. Soon all were dead and all that remained were mutilated corpses. Such a waste He thought to himself as he saw the spilled blood all over the floor. With that he sucked what blood he could from the less decrepit bodies. He felt himself invigorated by this as the sensation he had felt earlier grew. Khan looked at his hands, noting their strange fiery glow. He felt the power pass through him into his sword ignited the blade. Khan could see that it was not damaging the weapon, indeed making it a thousand times more deadly. He sneered to himself as the more Sarafan guards and soldiers arrived.

Although he didn't need it, Azmudan's thirst for blood hadn't faded. He had become a Soul Reaper, his life dependent on souls alone. But this didn't stop him from drinking from his enemies veins. He prefered the traditional method rather than sucking it from a distance. He'd do it if he had to, but he'd much rather sink his teeth into flesh to quench his thirst.

Metamorphing his cleaver into a much lighter and easier to wield gauntlet, Azmudan lept from the ground, and landed on the tiled roof of a tavern. He lept again, to another, taller building, landing on the wall. The thick claws from his gauntlet smashed into the wall, holding him up. With an acrobatic backflip, Azmudan ended up on the roof of this tower. It was a highly slanted roof, so he had to slam his gauntlet's claws through the tiles to get a good grip. He looked over the town of Normus.

It was fairly large, but it looked fairly deserted. Even the Sarafan numbers were low. If there were Vampires to rally to Kain's cause, they would surely be hard to find.
