I think there's already a thread about this a few pages back...so this might get closed. I'll try to answer your question though.

I don't think this movie will have anything to do with the others...just because it is made by someone different.
I read somewhere that the movie is going to be called 'DragonBall' (not Z), but it will be based on DBZ not DB.

Because it is made by FUNimation, it will probably have the toned-down violence and crappy diologue of american dbz.

The easiest way to put this movie is basically a script that was written on a piece of toliet paper. As already stated it won't have to do anything with the other movies, and I'm guessing it will be even worse then the live action dragon ball movie from hong kong called Dragon Ball the Magic begins.

Anything funimation touches turns to crap.

If you read the latest issue of DBZ Beckett, you'll see the nominees for the roles in the new movie. I'll list them in my own thread.

GO TO THE DBZ WEBSITE AND CLICK ON THE LINK TO THE MOVIE. FUNIMATION IS NOT, I REPEAT, NOT MAKING THE NEW MOVIE!!! MR. TORIYAMA HAS GIVEN ALL THE RIGHTS TO FOX STUDIOS AND FOX IS THE ONES THAT ARE MAKING THE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN ALSO READ THAT IN THE BECKETT DBZ MAGAZINE.

Rights don't nessisarily work like that. FUNimation contains all rights to the name DragonBall and all of it's characters in the United States. In order to get those rights, FOX would have had to have gone through FUNimation and FUNimation would probably want some part in it. Whether production or just flat out rights to some profits of it. Toriyama may have given the rights to FOX for production, but if the movie is released in the US, any money that s made from it, some of it WILL go to FUNimation. Either way, FUNimation is getting money and is being supported. Plus, who knows what FOX will do to it.

I just know that I have way more faith in FOX than I have in FUNimation. I don't believe that a live version of Dragonball (insert your letter here. or don't.) should be made at all. I just think that whoever does it is just going to screw something up.

i dunno. i think that fox makes great shows and movies. as for the fact that its db, i think it will be stupid. dbz was made to be animated. but you never know. it will be cool to see real people go super sayian but i doubt they will even do that! but you never know. it just might be dicent.

*It could be halfway decent, but I think that doing a live action DBZ movie is going to ruin it. I thinkt hey should do an anime movie of DBZ (like Digimon and Pokemon) or a CGI film (like Final Fantasy)

These two would be ideal.

who knows? This movie could be awesome. I think they should make it kinda dark and some kick arse special effects and some good old fashion violence.
I wonder how they'll show super saiyans and ki-blasts and stuff. I know Ill be there in line the day it comes out.:mrt:
