Do you get good grades?

I've been getting good grades since I started high school which is surprising to me because all through Elementry and most of Middle school I didn't get very good grades. I have this learning "Issue" as you could say and it makes some things a little more difficult for me to learn than most people. Anyway I'm currently getting one Two "A"s, the rest "B"s(I have 6 classes). I've never had straight "A's though...:cross:

Last year I got 79% average. Which was ok since I hardly did any work. The year before that we had a substitute for half the year because our real teacher got pregnent, I got 87% or something like that. This year we haven't gotten our report cards yet so I can't tell you if I'm doing good or not.

No, not really. :p Let me see, this report I got:
1st Period: Math 75
2nd Period: Science 86
3rd Period: English 71
4th Period: P.E. 75
5th Period: Wood Shop 41
6th Period: Lunch
7th Period: Theatre Arts 78
8th Period: U.S. History 75

My parents say I could do better, and I just don't try. But I think they give me too much credit. :p

The only reason I get Bs is that I'd be grounded for a quarter if I ever brought home a report card with a C on it. Up until this year my school's Computer Science program had more Unreal Tournament than C++ in it, which I think explains how I got As there.

I have gotten bad grades my whole life.

But just recently after I had stopped going to college, I moved, then I went back to college after a year away.

Now that I'm away from all my friends and what I reffer to as my former life, I'm getting good grades.

Infact, all A and B type stuff. Hopefully I can keep it up.

But on a side note, one thing that always bothered me was that good grades were always just a reflection of how much you worked and not your actual intelligence.

It had always bothered me because I was always written off by people and then when they sat down and talked with me they were blown away. Only to end up asking "why do you get bad grades...?"

I never had a legit answer but I guess now I dont have to deal with those questions anymore.

A word of advice for anyone out there reading this, who doesnt get good grades... just do the work. Homework, papers, all that stuff.
You dont have to do well on it, but if you just turn in something, it will be better than nothing. That way at the end of the semester when the heat is on, you can just raise up your level a little and you'll easily pull through.
trust me, doing the work (even if its bad work)makes good grades a breeze.

Mr. Cruiz has gotten a fairly good report paper. Here is what he got (No percentages, because he wants to be original):

Block 1 - Biology: C
Block 2 - Ext. Algebra: D+
Block 3 - Earth/Space Science: C
Block 4 - Engineering Design: C
Block 5 - English 9: A+
Block 6 - Technology Systems: A
Block 7 - P.E: B

Yes, One grade was "Below Average". But, 3 were "Average", 1 was "Good", and 2 were "Excellant". So, I am proud nontheless of my efforts.

Right now, I haven't started school yet (I'm taking a break before I go to college), but my grades throughout high school were mostly Bs and As. My math grades were either Bs or Fs. I never got a C or D in math and I can never keep an A.

The last semester of my senior year was horrible, though. I couldn't handle finishing one school play, starting another, and doing the senior class' skit. I barely graduated and had to drop out of a play because of my grades. I blame Senioritis (the disease that causes all high school seniors to become incredibly lazy).

I get all A's. Always. I'm in the 99th percentile on the yearly standardized tests we take.

I got an 88% on an Algebra II assignment, and the teacher talked to me after class to see if anything was wrong.

And the really ridiculous thing is, I just don't care any more.

I used to get great grades. We didn't really have a GPA system in my gradeschool, but I only got A's (sometimes B's). Around the last year of highschool something just changed. I'd blame it on the fact that my original highschool closed after my Junior year, and I had to go to another one for my Senior year. I stopped caring about getting good grades, and I went down to a B- or so average. I was in all honors classes, so a C was still worth a 3.0. Didn't wind up hurting me too much.

I went to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale for my first year of college. I cared even less here, mostly because I hated the school (Every other person basically was a binge drinker it seemed; teachers aids barely knew English; my dorm was utter ****). I wouldn't even go to classes if it was raining out. I wound up failing everything nearly everything, but I got an A in speech and a couple D's in other classes. I left after that semmester lol.

I'm doing much better where I am now, although I really hate where I am... I am leaving after this quarter (I get my associates then). I have a 3.5 average right now I think.

I do relatively well. I'm on the Dean's List, checking it twice.

I don't really remember doing poor in school since sixth grade because of personal issues that were bothering me. Anyway, I excel in most subjects. Anything math or science related is relatively shaky ground for me.

I mean, it's ground that I can manage to stand on, but unless the teacher can get the material across in an interesting way, I find myself doodling and day dreaming, for the duration of the class.

Heh, no more dreaming for me though. They'll kick my behind out of school if I don't keep my grades up. A couple semesters ago, I was called in for a meeting with the dean, just for failing one math test, lol.

Heh, I get good grades. I always get straight A's at the beginning of the year but after holiday break, I always tend to start slipping. But I like the school I'm in this time, so maybe I'll do better.

I don't know about Physics/Chemistry because my teacher is the worst. Seriously. He doesn't teach. He tells us to sit down and read every day, but we can't do that because he's always lecturing us because one person acts up, and he's a hypocrite. He says he doesn't believe in group punishment, but he does it every day.

In English, Algebra (gah, taking it again to touch up, it's too easy this time around), Computer Lab, PE, World Geography and Spanish 1 I think I'm making all 90's though.

E D I T: BTW, CWB, I love that banner, my friend has a shirt like that. It's hillarious.

I used to be kind of like a yo-yo.. I did really well for half a year, then just couldn't be bothered for the second half and... didn't do as well. I don't remember how I actually did exactly in school though (It's been a while, we brits finish school at 16)

If you just have to know, I have it between 4th and 5th Period. I don't really know my grade in it yet but I have heard the rumors. I hope I don't really have a 41 in it!:nervous:

I get excellent grades in English, Science and History almost all the time, but my maths is something that needs an extreme amount of improvement before I take my exams.

Other than that I think I'm a B average all over.

If I don't get straight A's my dad grounds me from EVERYTHING or anything entertaining. Even books. I'm in all Pre-AP classes and on average I make all A's. A few occasional B's aren't that bad, but to my dad they are. All he ever talks about is getting into a good college. And I told him, "What's the point of living if you can't enjoy life?" He didn't have any comment, he just rolled his eyes and started lecturing about how I won't get into a good college or get a good job if I don't make straight A's. I guess it's for my own good.....
