And Deus Ex....a tear trickled down my face while reading your post.

The point of the matter is Christina Aguilera is not telling little girls to dress like that. She is not their mother, so in no way is she responsible for getting girls to dress like that, unless of course the little girls have no guidance in their life.

Now on to "SLUTTTTTTTTTTTY WHORE" issue. TN you should know better than to 2 word post.:lecture:

In no way am I sticking up for her but give her some credit. She's getting paid $100,000,000.00 for singing, if she sounded like a dirty crack whore who smoked 6 packs of cigarettes a day she wouldn't be getting paid that much. She must be good at what she does, which is sing, dance, and intice men.

I wasn't going to post in this again, just for the fact that I didn't want any more people hating me than I had to have hate me, but due to the fact that I am severly pissed off right at the moment, I think I'm going to stick up for myself in this matter.
The point of videos like that is to . . SHOCK HORROR ! turn guys on, which means more guys want to see it, which means it gets more air play, sending it shooting up the charts, and selling millions of records in the process, so they can, guess what? Come on, somebody? What is it the music business is built on these days? Talent? No, that's not right, guess again. There we go, it's MONEY ! They make lots and lots of money.
Well, shock horror, another thing that gets guys horny is seeing girls kiss. Yep, guys get all hot and bothered over that. You don't see us women folk getting all steamy when guys kiss . . . and yes, I know that the music business is made off of money. I'm not stupid. Everything is based off of money these days. Clothes, music, books, food, most anything is a money-making thing. We wouldn?t have prostitutes if it weren?t for the money. But some people don?t need to dance around in outfits with their breasts halfway showing. Take Michelle Branch for example. Goes out to concerts, plays her own instrument, sings her own songs, no crackwhore costumes, no half-naked people dancing in the background, and still she manages to have thousands of fans. She even has her own website, where she replies to viewer?s posts, posts pictures, and even had a "Dress Michelle Branch For The MTV Video Music Awards" area once! Talent goes a long way when you?ve got it.
Hypothetical situation, you're trapped in the jungle, with an eight year old, and you're cornered by a hungry lion. You're naturally strong and know how to kill the animal. Do you

A - Save yours and the kids life ?
B - Die, because you might encourage the kid to kill pretty little kitties ?
One, your analogy sucks. It has nothing to do with the rest of the post. Two, it would be a tiger, not a lion. Lions live in the savanna. Tigers live in the jungle. Three, you wouldn?t be taking a child into the jungle if they weren?t old enough to know that "hungry large kitty=bad" and "small hungry but not man-eating kitty=good". Even eight years olds know better.
Now, I could continue to totally obliterate every single argument you throw at me, and fight your views of innocence and purity with the of gritty realism, and then retort to name calling, as you yourself have done, or I could just calm down and think that everybody has their own opinion, and just because it doesn't match mine, I shouldn't think of them as "sad, sad people".
The term "sad, sad people" was meant to be a joke of sorts. You do know what humour is, don?t you? And it?s innocence; the only reason that it?s spelled right is I went in and corrected all your misspelled words. And I know what gritty realism is. I wouldn't even be posting this if I thought the world was fluffy bunnies and rainbows! Yes, I think that parents should monitor what their kids are watching, but then again, parents wouldn't NEED to monitor what their kids are watching if it wasn't even on TV!
Ranting done.
That was MY term. I coined it first, used it first, and I don't appreciate you making fun of me by doing that. Back off.

Ok, you know what?

I'd like to remind everybody that we're all voicing our opinions and there is no need to insult your peer's intelligence just because he/she has a different opinion about whether Christina Aguilera wears pants over her underwear or not.

Given that quote may have been taken out of context, it shouldn't impare the point I'm trying to make.

Endymion, I'm sorry, but I think you read me wrong. I didn't say that because UN has different views than me, but because I was judged wrongly because of something I said. So, if you would kindly back off. I also believe that I pointed out before I started responding back that I was in a pissed off mood. That would explain some things.

Well, I personally don't respect Christina for her talents. I mean, I respect her for her voice perhaps...but I know she doesn't write her own music, etc...

She's essentially a manufactured product. Of course, there is nothing wrong with that...if there is a demand for it. And there is.

My message is basically "good luck to her". I don't have anything against manufactured artists, as long as they don't pretend to be some kind of holier-than-thou creative genius. And most don't.

It's like, recently...I saw Kelly Osbourne talking on Channel V. And when asked what she thought of her fame, she pretty much said "Look, I know I'm here because of my dad...and that's okay, I'm just having some fun".

And I thought that it was a great attitude. She wasn't taking herself incredibly seriously...and she understood why she is now famous. Because she's Ozzy's daughter. She seems to understand that.

Of course, some artists don't...which can be frustrating. As for Christina...I don't know how she sees herself. But if she pretends to be some major music genius...then of course I'd dislike that aspect.

As far as being slutty...well, I rarely use the word "slut" to describe a woman. I think it's one of the most offensive, horrible words a person can use. And let's face it...Christina is not truly a slut. She might dress like a hooker, but it doesn't make her behavior slutty. lol

The only reason I care about her, or any other lude dressing pop-star, is because I have a nine year old little sister. She likes to dress up. When she dresses up she dresses rather ludely.
She's also nine. For now, I see no problem with it. She's having kid fun. If she continues to dress like this when she get's into middle or high-school I will personally burn her clothing, snap her CD's and yell at her untill her eardrums burst. I will not allow my little sister, no matter what her age, to dress like a "slut", as many of you so colorfully put it, so that she attracts the wrong kind of attetion that may result in her being raped, killed, beaten, or pregnant.
If it wasn't for my little sister, I could't give a sh!t less about any of those singers. They are making money. I'm doing the same thing at Scrub-A-Dub. They just do it a dfferent way. I do not condone how they do it, but who am I to say "Go get a different job because yours is inspiring little girls that admire you to dress like a 'slut',"? I'm no one.

Well, I don't subscribe to the idea that the way a woman dresses dictates that she is more likely to get raped. When people say "if you dress like a slut, you're asking for it"...that pisses me off to no end.

As long as someone isn't showing anything incredibly rude...then it's fine. Really, it's their choice. People have no right to judge those things.

Of course, if you're talking about a little girl...then that is very different. She can still be allowed flexibility without dressing incredibly rudely.

  ... James.. I think you should re-word that... Ozzy was her dad...

It's funny how this seems to cause more of an uproar than the million and one things someone like Puff Daddy has done in recent months. All of which were infinitely worse in comparison.
Semjaza Azazel

I think the major difference is that puff daddy is just blatantly wrong.. you can't say 'he's not bad at all', even if you actually like him.. it's just that some people choose to think that he's cool because of what he does. If anyone thinks I'm wrong on that, it's just a generalisation, so it's not meant to be completely accurate for everyone..

The difference is, we can actually debate whether Christina Aguilera is actually acting in an unresponsible way or whatever, whereas it wouldn't be half as interesting if everyone was agreeing that puff daddy has done bad things, but making semi-interesting posts..

I think artists have responsibilities...but there is no way anyone can compare some idiotic "gangster" to a woman who wears skimpy clothing. There truly is no comparision between the two.

(Er...I fixed that mistake, Deus. )

They are both overhyped and overpopular just for their looks. I mean, Britney and her can sing, but the lyrics and the whole base of their songs usually goes along with something about 'boys' or something about 'dirtiness'. So I just ignore them, and poof, no more annoyance.

OMG! Everyone just calm it! She is ratehr slutty these days..yes..A VERY nice looking slut may i add. I dont liek ehr music, her voice is amazing, but, i do admit. She can wear what she wants to wear, if parents alow their children to lookliek slapper, It's Their Choise!!
For example:
"Mummy, i want that one *points to slutty outfit in window*"

Mum: No!

Slutty kid: But Muum! C.A and Britinay have one just like that!

Mum: I don't care you not walking around looking liek a slut.

The End

Bad Example:

"Mummy, i want that one *points to slutty outfit in window*"

Mum: Hmmmmm

Slutty Kid: Please! C.A and Britany have one just like it!

Mum: okay fine then, on you go.

Note:It's Their Own FRICKIN CHOISE!

Thank you

I totally agree with what James pointed out about people thinking that just because she dresses unappropriatelydoesn't mean she is a slut. (I don't like to use that word either.)
I have a question for the people that were calling her slutty, or a whore or a slut. Do you actually know she is a slut, a whore, a hooker. Yes, she does dress in a certain way, so does that automatically mean she is a slut?
Besides that, it seems these days that Britney and Christina and rising stars seem to think that they have to look naughty and dress a certain way. I don't understand why this is. Whenever Britney's first video came out,"Baby One More Time", she didn't look the way she does today, but her album sold over 12 million copies and every music channel showed her video. The radio stations overplayed the song. She did just fine whenever she wasn't dressed the way she does today. I don't know what the reason was, but I definately want to find out.

(As you can see, I tried to not use the words slut, slutty, whore, hooker etc. as much as possible.)

Personally, I liked "Genie in a Bottle" before I even saw Christina. My cousin was going to buy her CD anyway, and I was going to borrow it from her anyway. I always liked Christina for her voice, with her looks (up until "Lady Marmalade" anyway) were just a bonus.

As long as somebody out there actually likes Christina for her music, that's all that matters. Her career can't be purely based on her sex-appeal. If it was, then why would so many heterosexual girls listen to her?

It's not her fault she was born with an awesome body, if I looked like that i wouldn't be covering up with big baggy sweathshirts and pants. I wouldn't dress that slutty though. I say if you got it, flaunt it.

Mothers decide what their 10 year old kids wear, parents would never let their 10 year old kids dress like that. When they get to age 13+ they see what how slutty the clothes they actually are.

Unless of course they're the really sluty type of girl, that's an exception.

Actually, yes some people are. Well, the genetics for an awesome body, anyway. Christina doesn't work out half as much as some other people (Britney Spears works out constantly) and eats a lot of junk food. She genetically has a thin frame (which will turn against her like a rabid wolverine in a couple of years)

Yes, Endymion, you are correct. But she does have to exercise - no matter how lucky you are, you can't just not work for a good body. Genetics may make it easier for some, but that's about it.
I think she's nothing but skinny flab, and she is turning into an all-out whore. I lost all my respect for her the moment I saw Lasy Marmalade, and I threw out her cd. BURN BURN!!!!! :flaming: *calms down* I think Britney's sexuallity is preferably lighter and less whorish. I still love brit! :D

Ah, C.A. and B.S....Apparently now trying to hang on to their former glory by dressing like a 30 cent whore, rubbing up againts things and other women just to draw in the male fan-base...Ah, how the mighty have fallen.

Honestly tho, if you have to dress like a slut to sell albums, you've truly sunk to the lowest common denomenator. The day I see every single band on the planet dress real skanky to sell albums, that will be the day that tasteful music dies.

Also, I blame this all squarley on Madonna. Curse you, vixen!(Sorry...I just really hate Madonna.)

I don't see how anyone can say she is a slut unless they personally know that she is, and what she does in her private life is her business. I mean if displaying a sexual image generates more money then good for her. She has an amazing voice and great talent. I wouldn't call her a slut.
Madonna is one of the most exceptional artists of our time. Otherwise, she wouldn't still be as popular today as she was back in the 80s. These are my views anyway:)
