I twitched in my sleep. I heard Ryan screaming, but I was to tired to get up. I heard the muffled footsteaps of Abob running into his room, but I quickly fell back into sleep. I couldn't tell if Lalaith was sleeping or not, but he sounded silent.

It seemed like forever until the young Elf maiden came in to rouse us. We quickly dressed, and packed our bags, saying nothing to eachother. I guess we just didnt know what to say. After we picked up everything that was ours, the room seemed extrwamly bare. We went out to breakfast and where quickly joined by Abob, Samantha, Ryan, Iondarc, then finally Strider. Our plates where filled with a most glorius breakfast. After half-way through the meal, Elladan stood and spoke his final words to us before we left...

Ellandor: "You have as you know been summoned on this dangerouse quest. Many of you have come just for the thought of andventure. Unfortunatly there is no greater misery than going on a quest. I must warn you, it will not be fun, and the road will be harsh. You will be driven hard and will want to quit many times. This is your chance, should you walk away now you will not be labeled a cowered, you will not be thought of as anything except sensible. If you do not leave today you are required to either complete this quest....or die."

Lalaith smiled as he saw some of the members adjust their weight in the seats nervously. Ellandor never changed, he liked that. Always a morbid speach before they go off on a morbid quest.

Ellandor: "After you all finish your meals it will be time for departure. You will not be traveling with horses, because this would draw too much attention, so I would suggest you ligten your load. Otherwise farewell and good luck, the future of Middle Earth is in your hands."

Hearing this Lalaith slowly empted few truly un-needed items from his bag. Setting them on the tabled he made sure nothing was in his bag that was pointless. He stood up then and walked over to Ellandor. He smiled and clasped his shoulder.

"Never let us leave with high hopes will ya old friend."

Lalaith laughed. Ellandor seeing it was a joke also laughed. The two exchanged a handshake and bid their farewells. Lalaith then walked over to the side of the room and leaned against the wall. He clutched his new sword and sat waiting for the rest of the fellowship. The road was going to be hard and he wanted to go as far as he could on the first day. Today would be the hardest and the easiest, for he would drive harder than ever today. Yet their stomachs were filled and their moral up. Lalaith ran his eyes over the fellowship slowly judging how long each would last before breaking. He looked at his friends and smiled as he realized it took no time at all for them to be broken. Maybe thats why they stayed.

Abob grins as Lalaith pulls several items from his bag and sets them on the table.

He tried to never carry anything that didn?t have some use. He had gone through his bag yesterday and replaced even slightly worn items. He was making sure he was ready, for once, to go on a quest. The other two had arisen so suddenly he hadn?t had time to think. But maybe that was a good thing, not having to worry about what was ahead, always living in the present.

The fellowship slowly walked from the dining hall and out into the bright morning sunlight. They said there final goodbyes to the Elves and then began to walk through the town towards Angband. Lalaith lead them, setting a fast but steady pace. Today they had to get far away from here. The farther the better, since every day they wasted seemed to increase the evils power tenfold.
Abob fell into step behind Ryan, and then let his mind drift as he walked?

Strider looked back towards the gate, remembering his horse, Snowmane, who he had set off to Gondor only moments ago. He walked at the back of the group, as his father had done when he was in his own Fellowship. He thought about the possibility of never seeing Snowmane again, never seeing Gondor again... never seeing his mother again. He was easily the youngest of the group, though by no means the least experienced or the dimmest.

He found it quite easily to keep up with the group, he had moved much faster than this when he had to, but, being the tallest in the Fellowship, his giant strides easily kept up with the quite tredding of Lalaith.

Strider had not been in Rivendell long, but already he had decided that Lalaith was a decent enough guy. Determined, head strong, observant, much like Strider was. He both respected and admired Lalaith, Strider would be honoured when he got to fight alongside him.

Lalaith continued walking quickly. He eyed every tree, rock, and piece of grass. He waited silently for an abush of some kind. He knew that the first days could sometimes be the worst. He turned his head back towards the rest of the fellowship watching them. He noticed Strider walking in the back and grinned. He remembered Lauren telling him of how Strider would hang back in the first fellowship. Lalaith never got to meat the great friend of Legolas, and he always had wanted to. There was no way he was going to pass up this opportunity. He slowed down enough so that he was next to Abob. He leaned over and started talking to Abob. After some silent conversation Abob nodded his head. Abob then quickened his pace and was in the front of the group with his eyes carefully patrolling the world around him. Lalaith clutched his sword slightly and came back to Strider. He kept his eyes moving and made sure not to miss a single movement. He smirked slightly and then turned his head slightly towards Strider.

"Its an honor to see you again. Its been quite some time. You were a young one last time I saw you. I don't believe I've formally introduced myself, I am Lalaith Ril, a former ranger."

He smiled again as he noticed Strider's attention being drawn to him.

I heard a bit of the conversation that passed between Abob and Lalaith, and chuckled as Abob walked by. He elbowed me slightly and walked toward the front of the group. I rubbed the back of my head. It didn't hurt anymore, but I was still leary of being intruded. It was disturbing and disconcerting when another conciousness entered your own. My hand drifted, once again, to my tuff of gray hair. I roughly pulled my hand away when I knew what was happening. Staring around in embarrassment, I fixated myself on my boots. They were a pitch black, and almost completely hidden by my robe, but still very good looking. In fact, they were still spotless. They still retained their black shin...
I banged into Lauren.

Ryan- "What the..." I looked up to see that the rest of the fellowship had stopped. Abob was holding up his hand. I drifted up too him silently. "What's going on," I whispered.

Strider: The honour is mine. I have waited long for the time when I would be strong enough to fight in this most talented of groups. I was sure when I came that you and your wife had done the right thing.

Lalaith: So, why didn't you join earlier? We could have done with your help much sooner.

Strider: Two reasons really. Firstly, I was training all the time, and being a member of the Dunadáin was a time consuming thing.

Lalaith: As I know too well. And the other reason?

Strider:... My mother wouldn't let me go until I was strong enough.

Lalaith laughed, he could see the sincerity in Strider's words, but even Strider laughed at it. Lalaith had a respect for Strider, how he had obeyed the wishes of his parent. He had also noticed how Strider was intently watching te environment just as Lalaith was.

Ryan: What the...

Strider and Lalaith became alerted, and together they rushed up to join Abob and find out what was happening.

Upon hearing hearing Ryan, Lalaith grabbed his bow. He croutched low and notched his bow. He motioned for Strider to follow him. He slowly walked up to Abob. He got as close as possible and whispered into Abob's ear.

"What do you see?"

Abob sat there for a second longer staring at the forest, the turned his gaze to Lalaith.

Abob: "Movement.."

Lalaith nodded thoughtfully then turned to Strider. He looked at Strider carefully studying him then turned back to Abob.

"Move the group into that brush over there. Strider and I will scout the area see if there is anything following us."

He nodded to Abob then motioned to Strider. He began walking into the woods his bow pointing at the ground, yet ready to strike.

Strider followed Lalaith intently, he was anxios, but by no means scared. He reached for Andúril, and unsheathed it, holding it lightly in both hands. In his hands, Andúril was almost as deadly as it was in the hands of his father. But still, he wondered. Orcs were not this crafty, why haven't they struck? Goblins weren't smart enough to hide either, and Troll's were too confident in their strength to hide from a small company. It could only be Wolves... or humans, unless Strider was mistaken.

Although he knew Lalaith was infront, Strider felt almost as if he was alone, he wasn't depandant on Lalaith to lead him. Was this the moment he had anticipated? Would this be the time when he and Lalaith would charge into a company of enemied as the others followed? He could only wait and find out...

Lalaith walked slowly staying crotched. He kept his eyes moving swiftly making sure not to let anything go untouched by his sharp gaze. He looked at the ground and saw footprints. He held his hand up and motioned for Strider to stop. He pointed to the footprints and waited for Strider to realize what it was. Strider's eyes lit up, and Lalaith took this as a sign that he understood. What they were following wasn't like anything seen before. Lalaith muttered something under his breath and continued on, making sure to make no noise what so ever. They continued on untill Lalaith felt they were close. Lalaith nodded to Strider telling him to go into the clearing. As Strider began walking through the bushes Lalaith stood up and held his arrow tight against his cheek. He slowly walked after Strider. Strider stopped dead in his tracks. Lalaith walked up closer and saw what made Strider stop. It was a group of beings that seemed to be elf, human, orc, and goblin all combined into one. There were a dozen of them. Lalaith sniffed the air and nodded. These things were evil, and they had to kill them before they found the fellowship. Strider walked up un-easily and unsheathed his sword completely. He raised it slowly and quickly slashed the throat of the first monster. Before the monsters could realize that one of their own was down Strider began cutting quickly. Lalaith then began firing arrows as fast as he could. Before he even realized it all of the monsters were dead. Lalaith nodded and walked over to Strider. He offered his hand.

"I am very impressed. You will do good with us."

Lalaith smiled and the both of them headed back to the group

Samantha sat with everyone else in the brush, waiting for Lalaith and Strider to return from scouting the area that they had seen some movement in. Her sword was halfway out of its sheath with her hand resting on the hilt. Apparently, word of their departure had gotten out and had already reached Angband. She looked around and noticed that everyone else was getting anxious. What was taking so long?

Just as it looked as if one of the Fellowship would jump up from hiding and see what the problem was for themselves, they heard footsteps coming closer and saw Lalaith and Strider.

Lauren-Lalaith! We were all getting worried about you two.

Although their expressions did not show it, they had a curious look in their eyes as Lalaith and Stider exchanged glances.

Samantha-What's wrong? What did you find?

Strider-Strange creatures. Not Elf, human, goblin, orc, but all of them combined into one creature.

They started describing these things while all of them listened intently.

ooc: I was planning on typing more, but I gotta go for now.

Lalaith continued explaining these creatures in as much detail as possible. Making sure to mention they were faster, stronger and smarter than expected.

"We wouldn't have had much of a chance, but we took them on suprise. They are smarter, stronger, and faster, but their senses have been lessoned."

Lalaith looked at the group after thinking for a moment then nodded.

"Iondarc I need you to do a dangerouse task. I don't trust these things. If you will, I wish to send you ahead to scout more. I want to stay back and make sure there are no more behind us. If you see something send a jet of flame straight up, we will find you."

Strider: "I will go with him!"

"No"

Lalaith responded quickly. Strider looked at him confused but didn't say anything else. Samantha walked up to Lalaith.

"I do not think it wise to send a wizard by himself without a warrior such as Strider."

"We need Strider with us much more. Iondarc will fair by himself"

Iondarc: "Very well, I will set out now."

Lalaith nodded and looked back at the group.

"We will sleep for now. I will take first watch, if I need sleep I will summon one of you to continue the watch. You must stay awake, it is vital. We know not what we face yet."

He extended his hand to Iondarc

"Good luck my friend"

Iondarc shook his hand, and using his staff began walking into the forest.

With one last look at the group he had journyed so many steps with he turned and looked at the first step he would make alone. Once again he was alone. But not for long, he would meet up with his freinds again, some day. But until then he must find and examine these unknown creatures, this was his mission, this is what he shall do...To Be Continued

Lalaith watched Iondarc walk, untill he was out of site. He sighed. What he was asking of Iondarc was un-fair, he should've gone himself. He knew Iondarc should be fine, but..asking someone else to do that was wrong. He sighed again. He jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

Lauren: "He'll be fine.."

Lalaith nodded and rubbed her hand as he closed his eyes. He looked back at her and smiled.

"Of course he will, I wouldn't have sent him otherwise."

Lalaith smirked at Lauren.

"You should get some sleep though, Lauren."

Lauren paused and looked at him, then walked back to the rest of the group and laid down. She laid there looking at Lalaith.

Lauren: "You don't fool me Lalaith, stop hiding your feelings..."

Lauren sighed as she whispered this. Lalaith continued looking out towards the direction Iondarc had left. He sighed again.

"Good luck my friend...."

Lalaith notched his bow and climbed a tree gracefully. Making sure he could see in any direction he finally found a comfortable place in the tree where he could lean and still be hidden.

Hours passed, and the Fellowship slept silently arounf him, but Strider was restless. Already, within a single day of travelling, he had met enemies, new enemies, and they were dangerously close to Rivendell. If only Snowmane were with him, he could have rode back to Rivendell and warned them of the thread, and have made it back by sunrise. Strider decided that Lalaith must have been watching for hours, and, seeing as Strider would not get any sleep tonight, he decided to go and take over from him.

Strider got to his feet, and looked about for Lalaith. Quickly it dawned on Strider that Lalaith was hiding somewhere... and knowing Lalaith's skill it would take some time for Strider to find him. I think we are more alike than we realised Strider thought as he looked about the long grass, hoping to see a gleaming eye of the sparkle of metal.

Lalaith: *Whisper* Strider, up here.

Strider looked up, and his keen elven eyes spotted Lalaith, though only barely, the tree he was in provided excellent camouflage. Strider elegantly sprang up the tree, and in moments he was up with Lalaith. Strider drew his own long bow and an arrow.

Strider: You go and get some sleep my friend, I will take watch from here. I will find no sleep tonight.

Lalaith: Hmm... we truely are alike Strider Half-elven. I find it hard to get any sleep these days. But I would welcome your company.

And so Lalaith and Strider sat atop the three, talking quietly about past events, while still keeping their eyes on the path.

I did not sleep. I was far too scared of what dreams may insue to sleep. The vision I had gotten was burned into my memory. Everytime I closed my eyes, I would see the fellowship on top of that waterfall. Someone had stood up. I looked over carefull and saw it was Strider. He looked around for someone. There was a sickening moment when I thought that he was looking for some evil thing that would converse with him and talk of us. Then Lalaith spoke.

Lalaith- "Strider, up here." Striders neck crained up and then bolted up a tree. My stomach dropped back into my midsection and i swallowed. I could hear mumbles from the tree. It looked as if Lalaith and Strider were getting along quite well. But what of the other two members? We had left before one, for sure, but what of the other? I rubbed my eyes silently and looked into the darkness behind my eyelids. I pressed down on my eyes and watched the flow of colors radiate from the pressure. The colors were bright blues and greens. They danced in front of my eyes and made small patterns to delight my scared mind. The colors suddenly fell away. It was like I took my fingers away, but I didn't. A burst of red light filled my closed vision. I jerked in surprise and pulled my hand away. The red light stayed. I opened my eyes. The light clouded my vision and made it seem as if I was viewing the world through a piece of red tinted glass. I yelped and heard the conversation in the tree stop suddenly. Someone jumped down from the tree.

Lalaith- "Ryan, are you ok?" Lalaith said with concern resonating deep in his voice. I put my hands up to my eyes and rubbed them. They were warm.

Ryan- "I...I don't know... My eyes, they turned red... I mean my vision... Turned red..." Lalaith grasped my hands and slowly brought them down.

Lalaith- "Look at me..." I opened my clenched lids and slowly brought my head up. I heared Lalaith draw in a sharp breath.

Ryan- "What's wrong... with my eyes?" My body felt distant, and other colors danced in front of my eyes. My arms felt a million miles away. Lalaith kicked Abob in the shoulder.

Lalaith- "Abob, come here..." I felt faint. My eyelids were growing heavy, but I kept them open for Lalaith. I could hear my heart slowing, as if I was going to sleep. From far away Abob spoke.

Abob- "Ryan, it'll be ok." I tried to ask 'What will be ok?' but I couldn't. My lips seemed to be sealed. Abob grasped my hands and held them up to my face. They were red. Why were my hands red? My failing mind struggled to think. My hands were warm. The world started to tilt. I felt a dull twang of pain on my forehead. My hands were covered in something red and warm with...
Ryan- "Blood...." The world faded from view.

Abob took a step back from Ryan as blood poured off his body.

Abob: "Someone get me a damp cloth, hurry."

Ryan: "WHATS HAPPENING TO ME!?!"

The fellowship: "Shhhh!"

Abob: "Ryan, you're covered in blood. But it doesn't seem to be coming from anywhere. You're fine, but you're not..."

Samantha hands Abob a damp cloth and he pulls a potion from his bag. He applies it to the cloth and begins to run the cloth over Ryan's face and arms. Wherever the cloth touches the blood vanishes.

Lalaith: "What did you do?"

Abob: "I used a special potion on him. Since he was bleeding but wasn't wounded, the blood had to have been magic related. This potion temporarily removes all his magical powers. It should wear off in an hour or so."

Ryan: "I hope so. I fell defenseless and naked with out my powers."

Abob: "Like how I feel without my bow. Anyway, I'm going back to sleep, since dawn isn't for another two hours. *sarcastically* I need my beauty sleep."

Lalaith: "Sure isn't helping..."

The fellowship laughs, then everyone goes back to sleep, except for Strider and Lalaith...

Lalaith crept back to the tree and climbs up it. He looks down to see Strider follow him. He smiled and nodded to Strider. Suddenly he heard a twig snap. He turned his head towards the noise and waited for his eyes to begin peircing the darkness again. He gestured to Strider to tell him to be ready for something. He continued looked when he heard a noise again. At the last second he saw it, an arrow. It hit him in the right side of his chest. The force of the arrow knocked him off balance and he begin falling. He grabbed a tree branch with his left hand and dropped lightly to the ground. He began wincing. He looked up to Strider and nodded. He held his arm, and slowly walked over to Abob. He was loosing his strenght. He could feal himself getting weaker by the moment.

"Attack...wake up...WAKE UP!"

Lalaith yelled this as loud as he could. The fellowship began waking up slowly. Abob was the first to wake up.

"What the, why are you waking u-"

Abob looked at Lalaith in time to see him collapse. Lalaith struggled to get up but couldn't. All his energy was gone. Abob ran up to him to help him. Lalaith shoved him off and motioned to the rest of the fellowship. Abob nodded and ran, he began waking up the rest of the fellowhip. All the sudden the air began to be filled with talking. These monsters could comunicate. They knew they had hit him, Lalaith realized this. As the fellowship began taking arms, the group ambused them. Lalaith sat up, thats the best he could do. He watched the fellowship fight. It didn't look good. His face was set, he grabbed the arrow with both his hands and began grinding his teeth. With one quick motion he snapped the arrow in half. He screamed from the pain but contiued to take it out of him. He got up slowly after the arrow had been removed and drew his sword. He slowly went towards the battle. Strider saw this and hopped from his safe spot in the tree and jumped besides Lalaith, providing arrow cover for his wounded friend.

Samantha drew her sword and glanced over her shoulder at Lalaith and Strider. She sighed in relief as she saw he was alright, for the most part anyway. She turned around just as an arrow whizzed past her, barely grazing her shoulder. The monsters were now starting to come out of hiding. "So these are what Strider and Lalaith were talking about!" she thought to herself. They indeed had features of Elves, Orcs, Man, and Goblin as they had said, and they were also very fast too. There were so many that it was very difficult to dodge their attacks and fight at the same time, and everyone had a large group to fight against. Samantha had killed three already, but there were many more left yet. As she was deflecting some arrows with her sword, one of the creatures crept up behind her and slashed her across her back. Samantha screamed in pain. She felt herself falling to her knees, as she saw them raise their weapons to finish her off. Using a great deal of strength and effort, she raised her sword above her head.

Samantha-I shall send you to the halls of Mandos before I let monsters like you kill me!

Samantha stabbed the one that was nearest to her in its heart. It screamed in pain as it fell lifeless to the ground. She withdrew her sword quickly from the corpse and tried to stand up while slashing away at the creatures that pressed in around her. She managed, however, and looked around to see how the rest of the Fellowship was doing.

Strider worked frantically with his bow to protect his injured companion... no, friend. Lalaith was near the point of collapse, and Strider was determined that he wouldn't let his friend die. One of the creatures charged, and was met by an arrow to the neck. Blood gushed from the wound like water from a tap as the creature fell backwards. It was inconcievable though, and it angered Strider. How had a group of these... things managed to surround and ambush the group when two of the most reverred rangers in Middle Earth were standing guard? It was impossible. Strider was not arrogant, he knew that he was too good for that to happen. He had the senses of an elf, which he inherited from his mother, and the skills of his father. This was absolutely proposterus.

Strider continued to launch arrows by the many, taking out the creatures before any could manage to even look at Lalaith. Strider felt a small chill of fear as he ran out of arrows. He reached for Andúril, letting his bow fall to the floor. He saw Lalaith's reaction, which one one of joy rather than pain.

Lalaith: Now, Strider, we will charge into the masses together, our swords raised.

Strider smiled, and then they both charged, Lalaith feeling a new sense of power as he got a second wind. They charged forward together towards the largest group, detemrined to help their friends.

Abob finished off one of the creatures with a vicious slash across the throat, beheading the creature. He turned and ducked, flipping one of the monsters that had charged at him over his shoulder. The monster flew though the air and landed on its neck, which snapped loudly.

Abob looked around and saw Lalaith and Strider charging into a group of Monsters, their swords flashing. Abob froze a horrible though striking him. Lalaith had pulled the arrow from his wound. He would bleed to death if he kept running around like this.

Abob ran over to Strider and Lalaith and shouted to Lalaith as he joined the fray...

Abob: "Lalaith, stop fighting. You need to sit down and slow your heart rate. If you don't you'll bleed to death from your arrow wound."

Lalaith: "I'm fine. It can wait until the end of the battle."

Abob: "You'll be dead by the end of the battle if you don't sit down and let me treat it."

Strider: "Lalaith, he's right. You're more use to us alive."

Lalaith: "Alright, let's go."

Abob hands his sword to Strider, and then he and Lalaith hurry back towards the tree.

Lalaith sits impatiently waiting for Abob to be finished. He grabs for his bow and Abob kicks it away.

Abob: "Don't you even think about it.."

"Look at Samantha!"

Abob looked to see Samantha being overcome by the monsters, in this small space of time Lalaith rips a piece of cloth from his tunic and wraps it around his wound tightening as much as he can. He then ran and grabbed his bow and hoped into a tree, by the time Abob turned back around Lalaith had disappeared.

Abob: "Stubborn fool.."

Lalaith took close aim and shot the monster coming towards Samantha from the back, the monster then toppled over and fell next to Samantha. Samantha looked around bewildered for a slight moment, then continud fighting. Lalaith took aim and continued firing helping out his friends.

Abob ran up to Lalaith and stood back to back with him, fending off a swarm of monsters who seemed to be focusing on Lalaith, sniffing.

Abob: "Nobody's going to get hurt, except you Lalaith. After this battle I'm treating you right away. No if's, and's or but's. Otherwise I'll knock you out and drag you away right now."

Lalaith: "You have my word. I'll let you treat me after the battle."

Abob smiled grimly and continued to fight, thinking about Lalaith. It was going to take more than potions to cure him now, much, much more."

Abob kicked a monster in the chest, sending it back into its fellows. Then he drew an arrow from his quiver and shot it into the head of the creature, which died instantly. Then he began firing at the pack of monsters, one arrow after another, faster than the eye could see.

After the seventh arrow, there was a sharp snap and his bowstring broke under the strain. He cursed under his breath, and pulled out his sword. He hacked into the nearest monster, and then looked around. There were only six left...

Lalaith closed his eyes and then opened them again concentrating on the monsters. He pulled back the string and let an arrow fly. As he watched it he notcied it hit the first monster in the neck. He smiled then saw the arrow fly through the neck and hit another monster in the chest killing them both.

"Dumb...luck..."

Lalaith held the string back again with an arrow ready, he looked at the monster. He blinked trying to stay focused. He shook his head then set his on his target again. He let the arrow fly. He watched carefully and saw it miss the monster he cursed. Abob stopped fighting and looked at Lalaith. He missed...Lalaith never missed...he shook his head. "This is not good" he muttered to him softly. He then ducked and stabbed straight up sending his sword straight through the monster's open chin and then out his skull. Lalaith tried to fire again but only hit a monster in the leg. He cursed again and blinked trying to gain focus. When he looked up again he saw Strider jump up and stab the wounded monster straight in the back. 2 left...Samantha and Lauren took care of them with ease, stabbing them both at the exact same time. Lalaith smiled. He winced and looked at his chest, blood was flowing freely from his chest again. He winced and stumbled trying to stay upright

Samantha sheathed her sword and sat down against a tree and looked around. It seemed that everyone had been injured, some worse than others. Lalaith was sitting on the grass while Abob tended to his arm while everyone else cleaned their cuts. Samantha looked up to the sky to see that it was already past dawn. She didn't even realize they were fighting for so long. After Lalaith's arm was properly bandaged, he stood up. Seeing as how everyone was exausted, he suggested that they sould rest here for a few hours. Everyone agreed to this wholeheartedly and started to prepare breakfast. Samantha glanced up from the fire to see Abob, Lalaith, and Strider talking about something in hushed voices.
