Isn't there already a thread about the Serial Sniper? I'm sure there is. Have a look and you'll find it....

As ofr Halloween, we don't have it here, so, I honestly can't say anything, becuase I have no opinion of it. However, as Iggy said, better safe than sorry. (Ugh, I used a cliche. I feel so dirty)

I've heard of him. It's all over the news and on the radio. I personally think that it's more than just one person, but that's my opinion.

On the Halloween topic, that sucks for you, but I stopped celebrating Halloween 2 years ago so I wouldn't care.

Ya see, thats what im talking bout. YOUR NEVER TO YOUNG TO GO AROUND AND GET FREE CANDY!

Anyways, he is just ruining everthing for everyone. The other day, he shot a bus driver in Upper Montgomery County, which is around where I live, and half of my school didn't arrive till 12:00 because of the police shutting down pretty much every major road in the area to search for him.

Plus, just this weekend, me and my friend where driving to the movies in her WHITE VAN (same car the sniper supposidly has) and where stopped by to seperate policeman in one trip. Needless to say, by the time we got there, movie was half over, and me and my friend was to scared to even get out of the car, so we just went home.

Man I hope they catch that psyco soon.

Me, I love Halloween.

Take away the walking and begging door to door and that would be an ideal night for me. Like I said in the other thread, sometimes I'll just break out into song and all kinds of things.

Earlier today in Dodgeball, I started singing a melody and dancing around the gym. I love doing these kinds of things.

One should ever go without holloween. That really sucks :flaming: I hope they catch the guy before hollowen comes by so they don't have to cancel it.

Beating his knee caps in with a baseball bat? That's not right, you should add a little irony into it by taking his rifle and capping him with it(put a bullet through his head) and get back to collecting candy :D but that's just my opinion.

I live in Maryland. The sniper thing isn't really effecting me much. (except maybe the fact that I have to walk to and from school :nervous: ) We're not allowed to go outside in gym. I don't really care about trick or treating this year. It does kinda suck though. Last year hardly anyone went out because of terrorists, and now people are going to be scarred to go out because of the sniper.

I would completely understand if Halloween was canceled. Even if it is not, I doubt that many parents would allow their children to participate. Certain school districts are hesitant to open and children are increasingly being kept indoors. Parks aren't even viewed as safe.

When a serial killer threatens the police by saying "None of your children are safe--anywhere," they have a right to be cautious about the situation. I mean, most people are cautious going to a gas station nowadays in that area. It's really sad to see people kneeling by their cars to avoid being targeted, as if avoiding death has become a normal, everyday, precaution.

Now, this deranged lunatic is demanding upwards of ten million dollars. We're living in a day when security has a price.

*Hiding Plane Tickets to DC before Drawing attention to myself*

uhem... yea... that does really suck, but if you think about it... the sniper's not just shooting random people (well... yea they are "random") but since he hasnt been apprehended, and has always escaped... he seems to plan out his attacks fairly well.
so while you could be parranoid about halloween... it's not too likely that he's going to strike just anywhere...
So i say... screw it and get some candy!!...

And as for Security having a price...I'd rather live in danger and have my freedom, than to give the government the privilage to shuffle about in my concerns for the sake of "security".

But then again... Im a recless fool who just wants loot... so... yea... lol...

(oh... and please nobody take any offence towards anything I say... it's just me joking around and being the ***** that I am...)

I've heard and read a lot about this sniper. Halloween being cancelled is an excellent idea for the area. The sniper obviously doesn't care about shooting children, and if he/she could escape with all of those people around he/she might feel that he/she can prove that he/she really might be close to unstoppable.

Even after he is payed the money, if he is ever, I HIGHLY doubt he'll even stop. What's the kill count now, 10? I'm really hoping they nail this guy, he extremely deserves to die as many times as he's killed. But that's not possible so I'll suffice for one death, his.

Oh, and I'll allow this thread to remain open since we aren't going in circles as of yet, and this whole sniper thing is a big deal to me.

This sniper is certainly exposing the weaknesses of security. If you think about it, there are millions of people to shoot, and he can shoot them from virtually anywhere within a city. He obviously has a high power rifle, and he certainly knows how to use it.

Cancelling halloween would be a good idea indeed, as letting the kids out is only going to provide him with plenty to shoot at, if he was to strike on that day.

Even if the police force do capture him, how many people will have died then? A hundred perhaps? He has almost unlimited chances and every city in the U.S open to him.

He has exposed the crack in the policing of a city, he has shown that he can kill people and get away clean (so far), what if someone decides to become a "copycat" and try the same approach in another city?

Looks like the sniper is bout to lose his gun.... According to sources, its believe they may have found the Snipers. They have two suspects one a 40 year old ex-soldier and a teenager. Police found a scope of a gun and a tripod in their car that looked like the calibur used by the sniper.... They doing tests on those parts to see if its the one...

We already had this thread, but there are new developments worth mentioning.

peoples named John allan Mohamad, and John lee malvo were arrested with a .223 rifle, scope and tripod mounted to it.

both lived in the area of the shootings. John muhamed was discharged from the army on "other than honorable" discharge.

muhamed converted to islam 16 years ago. Both men are wanted in connection with another shooting in alabama.

police are all over these guys.

theres gonna be a news conference with police cheif moose with in an hour.

I will report back then.
----------------------------
This is before the news conference but,
this is a bit early but,
I want to mention that this should be a good lesson to all the profillers that thought the sniper was a white middle aged male.
still no word on if this is the guy, but the police are all over him, and it will be addressed shortly.

I will be back then...

I am kind of annoyed by the fact that everyone is trying to blame this on games yet again (I've yet to see a game that could teach you to put a rifle together, aim and load it perfectly - I mean the guy supposedly has shot through 2 people in ONE shot... I doubt that was accidental). It's even more annoying that it seems the media has whoever is doing this pegged as some teenager, when I've seen no proof of that.

As it is, I hope they catch whoever is doing this. It reminds me a lot of those movies with a crazy guy in a clock tower picking people off. Too bad it's not going as easy to capture the guy as it does in those movies.

As for the conference, this is the 2nd time they supposedly had someone. The cop that reports whenever something happens seems almost clueless as to what to say each time, which isn't exactly reassuring.
