LoL... Well Sephiroth, before I start my own post, I must say, in XOM's Games Of The Year Award Thingy.... The Sexiest Character From ANY GAME Was Infact HITOMI!

Heh....Funny, unless you already read that in the magazine....

Well, DOA's graphics are great, I mean everything flows well with it. The combat system though is limited.... It doesn't have any power attacks and whatnot... Which sucks....

I think it is one of the most shallow fighting games I've ever played. It's like a poor man's Virtua Fighter 4. I do not get it's popularity at all.

I was kind of annoyed that DOA2 got average reviews, and then DOA3 came along... Despite being nearly exactly the same in every way it was getting great scores, some even calling it the best fighter ever (I believe Game Informer did this). This was all thanks to graphics.

Actually it is one of the only 3 games for X-box I will touch. I must say, it was a great game. Not better than Tekken mind you, but still good. The interactive envirements matched and possibly topped those of Tekken. As you said, it is one of the best game, for the X-box, but that is for the X-box. All in all, fighting fans that own an X-box should get it. Anyone else should run away.

I feel that the reversal system was the most glaring flaw in the gameplay. Anyone who has more than a fleeting experience with the game and a decent timing ability is able to easily master it. There's no skill involved.

Hence, frustration can overcome fun factor, particularly when two fairly competent human players run into endless stalemates.

The expansive environments were definitely an asset to the game, as were their destructible elements. It was obvious that they were being touted as the game's focal attraction along with sexual appeal (of course).

I would like to see the next installment remedy the gameplay flaws and expand the front end a bit, but judging by Itagaki's comments (in which he regretted not expanding the environments even further, I'm afraid that DOA4 will just be more of the same, but with larger backdrops.

That's unfortunate, because the DOA series caters to an arcade-driven audience. The action is so fast-paced that there's little time to explore. So, what's the point? lol
