Near the forest of Mirkwood a lonely house finely crafted stands eerily against the moonlight, there are several people moving around inside, one of them a small halvling named Fox stands up and addresses his comrades

Fox: You all know why you have been brought here do you not, we are here to deal with the threat that the ring of power poses to the rest of the world should Sauron the Evil ever retrieve it, we must go on a journey to find the ring before he or his minions do. My friend Kain, you have been around longer than any of us, so surely you have heard something more about it's location.

Kain: I am afraid, Fox my friend I know as much as all of you do already, but why not ask Galadriel, she seems to know quite a bit about this ring and it's powers

All murmur in agreement and Galadriel takes her place in the centre of the room

Galadriel: The ring of power was forged almost 1200 years ago by the dark lord Sauron, it gave him unnatural powers and life, I only know what I was told by Elrond of Rivendale, The ring was not destroyed by Isildur on that day and instead passed onto him and corrupted his heart even after it took the life of his father. One day while he was marching by the great river he was attacked and killed and the ring was lost, it supposably fell deep into the great river, but was later found by goblins and taken by them to one of their strongholds in the mountains. There it waits until Sauron has rerisen and is ready to take the whole of Middle Earth in his grip.

Another murmur, this time of fear descends upon the group as they don't yet know that Sauron has been listening to each and every word they have said, he will instruct his goblin armies to kill this group of do gooders and giver his ring to his most loyal servants the Ring Wraiths

Fox: We have discussed enough for one night, let us sleep tonight and worry about other matters tomorrow...

OOC:Thank you once again Red XIII for reopening this RPG!
************************************

Riona started out from Rivendell in the direction of Loth Lorein where she was going to visit some friends. With enough food in her pack to last her going through the Misty Mountains, she set out straight east hoping to find the hidden pass she had found a few monthes ago. After a the sun had gone down, she finally stopped to eat for she was very hungry, although not that tired, she was used to walking. As she was building a fire she heard a rustling noise, she drew her arrow as fast as she could (about half a second or so) and pointed it in that direction...

Riona: Who's there?

Silence, Riona walked to the bush and rustled it with her hand, a squirrel jumped out. She put the arrow and longbow down, she was getting jumpy with all this talk of a darkness growing and the rumors that the ring was found again, by somebody named Smeagol. She could sense the that something was happening, in the wind, the whispering of the trees, something was coming or going to happen she knew it.

She leaned on her staff lazily this talk of Sauron was disconcerting, but not yet one to be terrified of the dreaded Nazgul....she waited patiently until she was named.

He was watching them....the Great Eye was.....

Fox: Are you alright Nepenthe?

Nepenthe: Don't worry about me. I'm alright....really.

Forcing a smile, she sank down to her knees, staff going with her. She sighed softly and lipped a bit of hair that had fallen into her mouth......its taste was sweet...like the cherrywood of her weapon....

Dreaming....the Eye.

I listend, already knowing all that was being told. Yet, I did not care. I only cared to find this ring and earn my pay. And that was all. Nothing more, nothing less.

I stood up, bellowing, unable to hold back my impatience any longer.

Gurthang: I do already now of all that is being told!! Shall we not speak of where may it be found? Shall we get to the point, rather than dwell on what is known?

I sat quickly back down, watching as everyone stared at me, wide-eyed, as if I had just stricken them in the heart. Yet, I did not care. I didn't care. I just wanted my money, and that was all. Money, and that, that was all.

Nepenthe sat up, that outburst had shocked her out of the dream. She fingered her staff.....energy flickering slightly in her eyes......he was being an idiot. More than most were.

"I would strike you down if the time was right.....speak when you know what to do."

Gurthang: ....

Nepenthe: Do you know what to do Gurthang? Don't hesitate to tell us.

He glared at the halfbred sorceress...her eyes were dancing with light now....red against black. The way she stared at him was unerving....her energy seemed to peirce him to the very soul. Gurthang looked away pointedly. Nepenthe sat back.....her point was made.

Fox looked over at them from his corner....nothing. Nepenthe opened her mouth and her voice raised in song....an ancient hymm to Elbereth. As her words flew into the air, a stillness entered the room, and all their problems seemed to lessen, like so many leaves...blown in the wind.

Nepenthe: Elbereth! A Gilthoniel!
We remember thee, your starlight upon the endless seas.

We who wander here,
Amid the world of woven trees.

Riona woke up, it was dawn, she gathered her things and spread out her fire. She took a step back, excellant, it hardly looked like someone had been there, I'm getting really good at this! Riona thought as she turned around and started walking along side the mountain looking for the hidden passage. It should be right around here. , if I remember correctly.......

Riona: Ahhhaa!

She yelled as she spotted it, she crawled through the entrance. Finally the tunnel ended she stood up and looked around she was right between two mountains. She sighed she loved nature, she continued to walk along the narrow path singing ancient songs as she walked.

 Nepenthe had glared at me...a nerving stare that made me feel a tinge of guilt, but I let it quickly be gone. In the end of it all, I didn't really rather care, so I sat back down, letting them discuss the nonsense which already they all knew.

I just didn't care. After what seemed like an age, Fox finally broke way, and told everyone to bed:

Fox: Tommorow we shall set out way. For now, we must unweary ourselves, and let rest become our warden.

Gurthang: Ah, finally. God, took ye long enough.

Again, they all stared at me, even though I had said it quietly. And Nepenthe glared at me as if I were even vile more than that of an ogre...

Thus, we all went to out separate rooms, and bid our sleep weary.

Nepenthe: Elbereth guide us.

Fox: Yes....good night Nepenthe.

Nepenthe: Sleep well. All of you.

She bowed low, hood brushing the ground, then she picked up her staff and walked outside.....the night held no fears for her. The others went to their perspective beds and slept deeply. Nepenthe watched the stars moving.....gently, slowly.

A lone wolf howled in the distance....she answered, her throat forming the language of the Galeigh wolves....the sound echoed gently....sending the mortals to sleep,

"I, Nepenthe, am here."

"Why do the others stay?"

"We shall depart soon. Fear not."

"Hai. Namarie."
The male wolf's voice fadded, and everything was still once more.

I saw the eye. It beemed down to me, overpowered me, it burned into me...

The thing was hideous, yet, I couldn't stop looking, it was so powerful. I began to sweat in my pain, and then, the eye articulated one word upon my mind which dawned on me forever since:

Eye: The ring can be yours, it is within your grasp!

I woke up, sweating, breathing heavily in and out. Could it really be mine? All that power? Maybe this journey would be more valuable then just money, certainly it would. I left my bed, and quickly came to the main room within the hut.

I found our congregation sitting and eating a feastful breakfast. I sat down beside Nepenthe, ignoring her, and ate all that I had need. I knew that ring could be mine. It could. And that is all that consumed me thus throughout the entire journey we did begin that day. Nothing else I cared for, not even the money. Just the ring. And it would be mine, oh, yes, it would be mine.

The female Itsari quietly ate, enough to satisfy, then looked at him from the corner of her eye. Immediatly, a flash of circling eyes and fire flared around him. She nearly jumped, but contained herself. On the outside, Gurthang appeared normal...but it was not so. As soon as she was finished, she wiped her mouth, and stood. The cherrywood staff flew into her hand quickly, snakes carved on it curling...

Fox: Yes?

Nepenthe: I am going out to see what the sun and earth are doing.

Fox: ...be on your guard.

Nepenthe: I always am.

With that, she quickly glanced over at Gurthang, and saw them again. Deeply disturbed, she exited the building and ran out into the fresh morning... The sun was bright, the clouds were few, and the birds were singing. She loped along silently, then she raised her voice in song...echoing with their joyful refrains...

Nepenthe: Hail Sun bright and sweet,
Light you give to keep us alive,
Oh lady bright do not fade,
Or sink to never rise again.

A young woman, who looked to be no older than 20 walked towards the group of people sitting in the clear.

Andriena: Finally, I may get something to eat. I just hope that they're nice.
She approaches the group who are talking amoungst themselves. Fox looks around and sees the girl coming.

Fox: Hold it there. Who are you and what do you want?

Andriena: Sorry to have startled you but I was just...

Gurthang: (whispeing to Fox) Send her away now. She looks like trouble.

Andriena: Just to let you know I am not trouble, nor am I looking for it. I was just wondering if you could perhaps spare some food and water so that I can be on my way.

Gurthang: Foolish little girl, do you know who I am?

Andriena: No I don't nor do I care. But as I was saying?

Gurthang getting frustrated with the girl went for her. Before he took five steps, the girl chanted a spell and pulled out a staff. Pointing it towards Gurthang, she elevated him and threw him 10 feet away.

Andriena; No sir, I wish to do no more so pleae let me be.

Fox amazed by this girl, let her sit don with them. Around the fire she told a quick story aquainting them with her past. AS the group listened they began to whisper among themselves.

Andriena: No need to whisper people, I can hear you. But if you are going t ask me to join your expedition. The answer is YES!!!

Okay, what is it with you sweetreyes? Not only did you not sign up, you also are god modding. So back off, and get the hell out of here. You are starting to piss me off.

You are not all powerful, and you are certainly not one to be able to levitate another, even if you are half Itsari. So get lost, or I'll stick James and Warlock on you.
~~~~~~~~~~
She was pissed. Very pissed. Gripping her staff in one hand, she quickly rose to her feet and marched straight up to Andriena's face.
Nepenthe: Back off. Why should we even bother with you? You use flashy magic, and advertise your presence. Not only that but you're cocky, and use it without even thinking.
Gurthang: .....
Nepenthe: I'm warning you.....
The snakes carved into her staff began to hiss, and their eyes glowed dangerously....just like their mistress's. The words of a spell were slowly marching into Nepenthe's mind....and the power inside of them were terrible. She had to only utter them...to release the strength of the Black Numenorians....
 I was amazed at the power of this mysterious girl. But more than amazed, I was angry. I felt that I needed to keep my eye and my thoughts on her as much as I possibly could. It may have been intuition, but, I believe it was much more than that. I knew she would play a key role of getting within my way for the ring. Then I saw Nepenthe, her eyes seemed to hold a deep evil and hate for this mysterious wanderer that had ended upon us.
The more, the better, I supposed. Nepenthe then began to hold her staff aloft, and, words creeped into my mind. They seemed to whisper evil and utter hate that I have ever felt. Then, I realized, Nepenthe was going to kill her. I was almost sweating with glory for this moment, but, just then, Fox turned to Nepenthe, he spoke in a tongue I couldn't undertand, and Nepenthe then turned away, walking to a random rock within the distance of our makeshift camp we had made.
God, I hated Fox then. I wanted to kill him then, if it wasn't for his key role in the finding of the ring, I would've. But, alas, my interdictions held me back, and I calmly walked back to my tent, holding back my rage.
She stood down, then quickly winged her way to Gurthang's tent. Without fanfare, she pulled the flap aside, and sat down in front of him, legs crossed, tunic spreading across the floor.
"I know what it is you desire."
"Do you now?"
"You want the One Ring for yourself. You desire to become a Power."
"What if I do?"
"I will not stand in your way."
His eyes opened at the offer she was making him...it was subliminal, but then again, most of her speech was. She appeaered to be calm, but beneath the surface, he caught a glimpse of utter evil...swirling around inside her.
At first I felt she was decieving me. For all I knew, she certainly could've been. But, I looked in her eyes, I looked deep in her purely lucious eyes, looked deep in them, sorting out all of the information that seemed to glean into me like that of a book. I found she was telling the truth, and I knew it as from the pure blackness of her heart. Ah, I just wanted to kiss her then, but I held back, and I simply looked upon her with all of her glamor for the first time, and I simply said:
Gurthang: I do believe I can trust you, can I not?
She smiled, a sneaky smile which seemed to clench me forever and pull me along with its creases along her face it made.
Nepenthe: That you can. That you...
I cut her off.
Gurthang: So why have you been up with the goody-act all along?
She smiled again, only this time, it looked quite devilish. Quite devilish indeed
Nepenthe: Ah, I do believe you already know that answer, my dear Gurthang.
As she spoke, she touched my lips with the point of her finger, and she walked out of my tent.
With a quick movement, she began running hard and fast, sending a quick blast of magic into the air, forming the words...
"I will return quickly."
Several moments later, she came into the forest and bent down.....With one hand, she picked up a bit of earth...rubbing it between her palms.
Her mind reflected on Gurthang... He was rather cute. And his attraction for her blazed in him louder than his voice. Oh well. Enough time for romance later. Right now, she had a wolf to contact. She cupped her hands around her mouth and howled out the, "I'm Here." call. Several moments later, one came racing through the trees, contacting her as well.
I sat in my tent, going over and over what had just occured. What a strange turn of events had this all turned into. And as I sat there, stoned to my thoughts, Fox entered.
Fox: It's time for dinner, Gurthang.
As soon as he was there, he was gone. I looked blankly where he had stood, and walked on to dinner.
As I sat down, I found Nepenthe nowhere in sight, and I ate quickly and lonesomely.
The wolf and the Sorceress conversed for several moments in a quick throaty language....then she stiffened and turned around. Gurthang was coming. With a quick bark of command, the wolf turned tail and raced into the darkness. She turned around, the slits of her tunic rising ever so slightly.
He stopped several feet away and looked at her, focusing on her eyes. Dusky rose...
"How may I be of service to you Gurthang?"
"How do you plan on helping me...exatly?"
She smiled and moved closer to him, moving like a cat... Her eyes slitted ever so slightly and her smile grew more broad than normal.... She walked in a complete circle around him, sizeing him up. Gurthang felt like a peice of fish thrown to the sharks.
Kain stood near the edge of the forest clearing by the cabin... his deep blue skin and white hair would have made him stick out like a sore thumb had he not been a Drow, and have a calmness about him that allowed him to blend into any surrounding, much like his elven cousins. He had watched, with disgust, as throghout the meeting, people had bitched and argued and showed off... trying to make a dominant presence among the group.
Kain: How are we supposed so succeed... we have but a group of squabling children. Smeagol is a creature of craft, and these rabble are loud enough to be shot from Angband.
Kain longed for the water, Drow loved the water like elves loved the trees. However, he still found happiness and tranquility among the trees of Mirkwood, as they were also part of his nature.
Fox approached, his silent hobbit feet making no noise to human ears, but to a Drow it was almost deafening.
Fox: What troubles you?
Kain turned, his face displaying it's usual calmness, but his voice was hoarse, angry, and it scared Fox.
Kain: We cannot find Gollum... he will hear us three days before we reach him, and he will always have an advantage. This... band, has no discipline. They argue and *****, all the while Gollum can listen, and plan his route carefully, so as to avoid us.
Elsyan, a High Elf, hadn't spoken a word ever since the council meeting the previous day. Instead she remained silent and took all of this into her thoughts. Her green eyes observed everyone, took in everything around her. Presently she sat in one of the higher branches of a rowan tree, watching as everyone conversed with each other and walk around. She turned her eyes away from them and looked up at the sky and closed her eyes. She thought about what the hobbit named Fox had said.
Elsyan: "The One Ring. I have heard many stories and tales of it," she thought. "Sauron was once in possession of It, and It betrayed him and allowed him to be defeated. That much is certain."
She opened her eyes as she heard movement down below. She gracefully leapt down from her perch onto the ground as she looked around. It was then that she noticed that a Drow, whom she had not seen yet, had also joined them it seemed. He and Fox were busy talking. I wonder what about? she thought. She sat down and began to daydream of when she was back at Rivendell when she was young.
Nepenthe: How do I plan to help you?
She edged closer to me, an evil glaze covering her already malicous exterior.
Nepenthe: How do I? Well, how would you like me to, how would you?
She edged even more closer to me, glaring at me, piercing into me, looking at me as if I were a tiny morsel for her to chew. I hesitantly opened my mouth, but the only thing that escaped was air.
Nepenthe: What? Cat have your tongue, Gurthang? How do you want me to help you, answer!
Gurthang: I'm...I'm not quite sure. In what ways would you?
Nepenthe: What, you want help finding the ring, and claiming it as your own? Is that it?
I shrugged my shoulders.
Gurthang: Could be. Quite could be.
"I can do many things for you."
She pressed in close, her face nearly touching his....eyes glittering like set diamonds....betraying her dark soul.
"Even wipe you clean. Like a blank slate. Is that what you want from me?"
Gurthang's face colored. He shook his head, slightly upset. She was close enough for him to reach out and snap her neck, but before he could get a move, she could repel him. It was tempting, this Power she could offer to him, if she so chose to. And frightening...the energy she was giving off.
"Do as you will."
"Perfect....dearest."
Nepenthe: Perfect...dearest.
She said, touching my face, as if tempting me. My face turned red with envy, and I turned away, returning to the camp.
She seemed so rather complex. At times she would seem so kind and caring, and others, she could be so evil and heartless. It was rather strange, but, I supposed, that was just her. It was just her.
I quickly went into my tent, and I soon then fell asleep.
A tear fell to the ground...and she sighed. Her power, blast and curse it...controlled her mind. And the Eye, looking at her constantly. While she marinated in the darkness He loved it. To hold a nearly complete power over the brat of Mirthrandir was perfect.
"Curse you. To the depths of the Sundering Seas."
She sighed. Part of her was begging for a cure, the other half mourned the brightness.
The inferno inblazed around me, and there it was again, that great and wonderous eye, looking at me with its so pitying gaze of affability.
I almost turned away, it was so hard to stare. It seemed to burn into me when I looked right at it, as if knowing everything, all of my secrets, all of it.
Eye: You must ignore that petty girl. She's only going to get into your way!
I shivered at the raw power of the voice, shivered at it for all its intensity and hatred. I want to tell it, wanted to say I was going to have her, even if it meant things would go slower, or never happen.
Eye: They will not only never happen, but, Gurthang, you shall lose your life. Do you not understand that? She's only trying to stop you. Just imagine, all of the power you'll have...all of it..
I again shuddered at the voice, flinched at it. I felt so stirred inside, it felt as though I would become nothing but water, and fall to the ground, evaporating into a senseless pile of indecision. I again willed myself to speak, and this time, I managed a slight tinge of speech to escape my scalding lips.
Gurthang: Is...is this true? Can I even trust you, Sauron, or is this all a ploy...
Again, I felt flinched and lowly.
Eye: That is for you to answer, fool. For you and only you. Take what I have said, and do what you will. For, I do not care. It means nothing to me...nothing. Nothing.
I wanted to speak up, but, I then awoke, Nepenthe shaking me, waking me up.
